After watching "The why of Fry" I went back to look at "Space Pilot 3000" and was amazed to find that, when Fry is falling into the cryogenic freezer, the shot that shows a shadow of the table also features a silhouette of Nibbler!

My challenge to all you people out there is what other secrets have you spotted.

I know some of them are called out in the DVD commentaries, but let me know what you've seen!

In Spanish Fry, if you look really closely at the establishing shot inside the Galactic Bazaar, you can see Waldo.

Also, the car Fry crashed from 'Lesser of Two Evils' is in the background at that Galactic Bazaar.

In "Jurassic Bark" you get to see a flashback of what happend to Fry in "Space Pilot 3000". Most of you have probaly seen nibblers "third" eye in the trashcan, but have you noticed that both Fry and Nibblers shadows are under the desk. relating to "The why of fry".  and also you see Matt Groenings head in "Space Pilot 3000".

When I glanced at the author of the thread, i thought it was the second coming of SuperFry.

There are lots of robots used again in other episodes, for example the masked unit in "bender gets made" and there are lots in the background in epsiodes like "crimes of the hot". I can't really remember many others....

In Space Pilot 3000, Bender says " Let's hide in the mueseum, it's free on Tuesdays" and in fact December 31st, 2999 is actually a Tuesday and also in Space Pilot 3000 when the police surround Fry, Leela, Bender, and Fry, Bender quite literally "shits a brick".

Humorbot 5.0 is constantly around. Theres another robot I've noticed that appears in many episodes, it's a yellow fembot with a strange shaped head. I think its first appearance was in 'A Fishful of Dollars' trying on sunglasses, it's also appeared in 'Raging Bender' at the movie theatre, 'Bendin' in the Wind' as one of the broken robots. Theres been more, as well.

Yes, infact it's listed on The Fry Hole. Well, that's my take on the events.

Yeah, there's a lot of dead-horse-beating going on around here.  Hmmm.

Is that a euphemism for masturbation?

no, it's just a phrase.
"beating a dead horse" is saying you're doing something repetitiveley and [probably] unnecessarily. Because if a horse is dead, there's no point in beating it, is there?

someone obviously has a lot on his mind...   :flirt:

Yeah, my point is, every couple of months someone starts a new thread saying, "OMG! Have you seen Nibbler's eye in the garbage can?" Or, "Dude! Leela's parents are in I Second That Emotion!  Didja know?"  Well, yes.  This is a Futurama message board with 3500 or so hardcore Futurama geeks crawling around it.  You got to get up pretty early in the morning to stump all of them.  This far after the episodes all aired, it's natural that we'd have had most of the good stuff figured out a long time ago.  It's only once in a long while that someone comes up with something that's actually new.  Like the freeze frame of the newspaper in the tube in the show's intro, or the bit about the same green beetle showing up five times in "Bendin' in the Wind" because of the well-known continuity error in Bullitt.  Or the trident on Hank Aaron XXIV's Atlanta Braves uniform.  So at this point, it's best to run a search before you go posting stuff that's probably not new.

What is interesting is that in "Anthology of interest 1", in the episode where Fry asks what would have happened if he hadn't been frozen and come to the future, you'll find that there are no silhouttes under the table.

As a consequence Fry doesn't fall into the cryogenic tube, doesn't get frozen and in the end the universe gets destroyed, which relates back to 'The why of Fry'.

If you listen to the audio commentaries you probably know this already, as that's where the bits you've mentioned are pointed out by DXC et al

Oh, and it's not five green beetles in 'Bendin' in the Wind' it's five hub-caps falling off the VW camper.

I don't think it's entirely the same car. It's probably the same model, but the one in "Spanish Fry" doesn't have the huge dent the other car got from hitting Flexo.

It could be it just had some extensive body work done, though.

How many 1000-year-old cars do you think are still in existence?  I guess Past-O-Rama probably owns a few more, and there might be a few buried or in junkyards.
