As David A said, I would not say that they are mean, just that they are so different from him that they find it hard to act out how they care for him.

No they aren't mean, just more interested in sports and what Kremlin Joe is doing, than Fry and his brother. Yancy actually loved Fry, it's just that siblings will always fight, no matter how much they love eachother.

They aren't mean. Different people have different ways of showing their feelings, but Fry's parents still definately loved Fry. Even if it didn't always seem like that from an outsiders view.

I'd agree that they're not mean, they're just pretty solid, and more interested in sport/the communist threat! As for Fry's brother, jealous maybe, but as had been said, if you look at 'The Luck of the Fryish' most definitely not mean.

I don't think they're mean and the suggestion that Fy's dog is smarter than them is probably true.
But then's Fry's dog is smarter than Fry as well.

At first, they seemed really mean, but after i saw more and more of them I realized that they arent mean, they just seem more focused on other things than Fry. And no matter how much they love him, a family will always have trouble spots.
