So, we all know that there is a new show by Groening.  Well, what does anyone imagine that it will be like?  What are your wishes on what it will be about?  My idea was that it might have been set in the wild west, with cowboys and some social misfit who becomes the main character.  And instead of space ships, they have horses.  Sorry if I'm bringing up an old topic, but I just wanted to know...

Well, I remember in some show about Futurama he said that The simpsons was about middle aged main characters, and Futurama was about young adults, and if he ever made a new one it would be a different generation (I think). Maybe he'll do one about old people? He's also had a present and a future one, so possibly a new one set in the past maybe?

Did I miss something?  This is the first I've heard about MG making a new show.

I remember he once talked about making a show about a rock group.

Maybe past related, but I actually somehow think he'll want to stick with the present.  Just from a different angle (The Simpsons is about a family, so this show WOULDN'T be about a family).  But really, who knows.  Whatever it is I'm sure it'll be brilliant.

Seeing Life in Hell animated in some form would be interesting too, though I'd have a certain amount of skepticism about it.

he might have been joking though i saw him say that on t.v in england about 4 years ago

Too true, newhook_1. Those rotten bastards.

So Groening's at it again, eh? Wonder what kind of show he'll make now... I mean, Futurama's going to be the gem of cartoon shows, for, well, ever, but he could try to go against his own work.

Or he could make a Futurama movie and appease the hoardes of angry fans who are as we speak carrying torches, pitchforks, and double-barreled rifles to FOX HQ...

I didn't say that... nobody heard me say that. Eh heh heh..

When is the estimated premire date for this new show? Is it even going to be animated?

Groening said at the Comic Con that he would work with Fox again.

Regarding my Life in Hell comment, my skepticism would purely be based on the fact that turning a comic strip into a tv series would be a little hard to do (maybe if they just did shorts?), especcially given the nature of Life in Hell.  I love the comic (I have several books of it) and I think anyone who hasn't seen it should go buy one of the the books NOW.  And I bet whatever Groening came up with for animated Life in Hell would probably be brilliant.  Also to clarify, I remember reading an interview a while back where he said that he had a list of show ideas he'd like to do someday and Life in Hell was at #7.

One more time - there ISN'T a new show!  Matt Groening has some ideas of shows he'd LIKE to do, but right now no new show is being made.
