Really, we all love Futurama here, but what was the most embarrasing/evil/stupid thing you had to do because of this show?

an example : You had to cancel a date so as not to miss the season finale.

I'll go first - to feed my filthy exotic little habit (for, futurama is hard to come by here, you have to use a lot of nudge nudge, wink wink secret codes, and mention the right people's names to reach some pirate-geeks), i had to translate Harry Potter books into serbian, which is the low point of my translating career. In fact, i'm ashamed to admit, i'm currently translating book 5, and i intend to use the fee to buy a DVD player and the all 4 seasons box sets.

How about you? Did you split up with your best friends due to Futurama? Had to lie, cheat, steal, hook, or something along those lines, just because of your favorite TV show?

uh, I love it enough to buy the dvd set's with my hard earned cash. I guess one time I did use it as an excuse to leave someone's house during the second season who didn't like the show. But I was only hanging around there because he had a pool.

I wasted 1/2 of my precious weekend whenever it was on so I wouldn't miss it at it's crappy 7pm Sunday time slot.

Awww.. c'mon, people,give me some dirt...  :)

Okay, i'll go again, just so you'll get the general idea of what i want to hear :

I blackmailed my friend Radosh, who owed me a huge favor, to blackmail a guy who owed HIM a favor, to get the VCD's for the 2nd season...

to all of you people out there, who scowl at my actions, i have this to say : "Hey, i'm a porno dealing monster, what do i care what you think?"

Most of us don't have dirt because we llive in the meccas of western TV and therefore don't need to reenact the berlin airlift in order to watch good shows.

Oh, well, i kinda feel sorry for you... no, really... all these years of using my wits to feed my filthy, filthy habits (US und UK comics and graphic novels, Futurama, Kevin Smith flicks...) has given me many an interesting anegdote with which i hope to bore te hell out of my grandchildren, or anyone who's foolidh enough to stop and listen to my rants  :)

Funny thing is, my dad works at a TV statio, so therefore i'm privy to some of the worst exec decisions ever! (like NOT wanting to buy Futurama broadcasting rights, and instead spending ENORMOUS sum of money on lame old shows like Melrose place, Working and Beavis and Butthead!!! Also, since the film editor of the TV station is suspected to be gay, we see mostly european flicks that fit the artsy-fartsy gay population... 30% good stuff, 70% lame, boring, or just plain disgusting flicks)

Well last weekend I was going to a concert on Sunday, therfore I wouldn't be home for Futurama. I was just as concerned about the time-record function on the VCR working as I was about seeing the concert! Fortunately the concert was truely truely incredible, and the VCR worked. So the following morning I got to watch the episode too.
Oh the concert was the Robbie Williams Knebworth gig! Anybody else go? There were 135,000 people there and I was at the front! The support acts were Moby, Ash and the Darkness!

I remember getting the Season 2 DVD box set last year. I tore open the packaging and watched every single episode consecutively.

No, that's not *stupid*. But for the whole day I didn't go online once!  God help me...

Well ok if this counts I have (and will still do so) go offline for half an hour to record Futurama....My computer is right next to the TV, therefore interference is assured so in order to get maximum picture quality I will happily tell my net friends "brb" lol
I've told them why too so I'm not ashamed and they just laugh  :D

That's about all I've actually done to see the show but if something did come up and I had to choose, Futurama would win every time....word :-P

I love it enough to force my uninterested girlfriend into watching it with me repeatedly.  It even grew on her, and now she quotes it all the time.

[Brian] A lot! [/Brian]

Well, I mean enough to buy all thre dvd sets, all comics and spend almost 2 years on an Internet message board, making more than 10000 posts in the progress. So guess I sacrificed my life (or what passed as a life, believe me it wasn't much).

I fight my sister for the tv on sunday night, literally.
i also convert people. like Zack brannigan I force people to watch it. I would tie them down to a chair if i could tie knots well....
Also, when the season 3 box set came my dad wouldn't give it to me beacuse I was meant to be studiying for my exams. I lied and said I had finished my exams. unforunaltly he saw right through the excuse and I had to wait for days to get it......

Enough to put up with you nutcases.
Nah, seriously, you're alright.

Enough to buy DVDs of the series, something I had never even thought of doing before.

Enough to not answer the door while controlling the VCR.  Even though it was my neighbor who's letting me use his network bandwidth!

There we go! More dirt! More SINS, i say! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!

My turn again... I've been watching Futurama apisodes all night long, instead of translating a book that needs to be published by september the 1st.

Hmm... Enough to get a job to buy a DVD player and the DVD's themselves and watch them. Even though I already had most of the episodes. But the higher quality and the extras are worth it. Plus the feeling that I'm supporting the creators... oh wait, cancel that last one...  :(

now THAT really fits my category of evil/stupid/em,barrasing things that you'd do for the show...  :)

Imagine someone finding your mangled corpse, with a farewell note in which you praise  Matt Groening and the others, cursing Fox (although, that way, your family can sue Fox, and use the money they get out of them to finance the show  :)... oh, wait... noone can sue Fox and live to tell the tale )

Inventing computer problems for my partner so she would stay off WinMX and let me have ALL the bandwidth to download Epps three at once! :/

We only can take so much badwidth without messing up the mailserver, and if that happens the admin "my renter who gives us free internet" gets furious, so I needed all the bandwidth she was using downloading "Charmed"

I have to live on $560 a month social security WITH a housepayment, and I cant affard $39 dollar DVD sets, maybe when I grduate if I can still get them....  :(

I also bought a few comics.

I love it enough that I tracked down all the back issues of the Futurama comics and bought them on ebay.

And I killed someone because they were blocking the TV during an episode.

Not really! YOU'VE GOT NO PROOF! MWAHAHAHA

Im done now.

I love it alot!  :D

It is my fav show that has ever been on.
unless you count all the others...

I asked several friends at work to record the same episode one week because I was going away and have joined this board twice as well as lurking on it for awhile.
I bought all the DVDs and when I discovered the comics with the Futurama-o-rama book I ordered the remaining comics right through to issue 16.
I've also ordered stuff from Austrailia and America via Ebay.(which I rarely do).

Plus I've bored my mates to death after repeated viewings of the series.

Its a TV show and I watch it!   Since 1984 I have liked exactly FOUR TV shows...... I hate TV, for me to even LIKE a TV show, let alone watch it is amazing. To buy it on DVD and buy toys, is unbelivable.

I mean I'm 39 and I take my lunch to school in a Futurama lunch box. :/
