...July 24th is not a great day. Why? Futurama will take a little break from the Adult Swim. So, once FOX is done with the remaning episodes, Futurama will be nowhere to be seen on television...maybe for a while. Starting July 28th, Futurama will be replaced by weekly Home Movies episodes. This may make you hate the show, but it isn't the show's fault, it's Cartoon Network's fault...

...and for some much needed proof, here it is (go to the bottom for heart attack):

It's all true, take it with a grain of salt, though, because things CAN change...

A hiatus doesn't necessarily mean it won't be back on again.

Why must everyone act as if this is a bad thing. Futurama will probably be back on by the time that the fall season for shows begins. But think of it like this: If they continued endlessly showing Futurama episodes in a loop every night (excluding Saturdays and soon Sundays) it would seem great at first but would become tiresome. This small break makes us appreciate Futurama all the more. Many people are going to blame Home Movies but remember like Bender5000 said it's not the show's fault. Home Movies is a decent show (though not as good as Futurama) and we shouldn't hate it for the reason we hate King of the Hill. I hate KotH because it has a boring characters, bad plots, etc. not because it takes Futurama's place constantly (okay maybe just a teensy bit for that). Remember this too: Could Cartoon Network actually make us wait any longer than FOX did?

not in the least, besides, seeing futurama ever night at 11:00 in a constant 74 episode loop will get tiresome. i am currently going though season tree, i think, which ever had the day the earth stood stupid, anyway, having seen it before i catch things i never really noticed, but i doubt i will stick around to see a third showing. futurama is good, but only in moderate doses. a continuous bombardment practically all week will not do the show justice.

anyway, CN is NOT FOX, they seem to KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING WHEN IT COMES TO CARTOONS!!!!

A little disappointing, but I'm sure CN will bring it back. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that...

FOX has made us completely paranoid on how other networks try to handle Futurama.

When Futurama returns, there will be some "season 5" episodes to play.

I can understand why CN did this.  After all, their contract runs for five years I belive.  Running Futurama five days a week for five years long would be a bit much.  Probably CN just wants to wait till they can get the "season five" episodes.  Then I bet they'll start airing it again.

you won't have much to worry about. the cartooncomments@turner.com guy said the show will be back and they will air season 5. it's contractual problems that are preventing season 5 from airing, but that's typical syndication. but for the time being Home Movies will air on weekdays and new episodes of The Big O on Sunday.
