Yippiee... that are good news. Thanks Kryten. It's most important for me that the series's going to continue. Because I live in Germany I only can see the "untranslated" episodes by dowloading them from the Internet. The German translations... well they're not bad, but they're not "the original". Well I hope for you that Fox will bring Futurame in a better timeslot, but for me it's important that they continue the series at all.

Well I know that the German translation s not perfect. But I guess you'll never be absolutely satisfied with a translation when you know the original already. I also cried out loud when I first heard the German voices instead of the English ones. But now - several episodes later - I can live with them. Though I know that some jokes and things like the different English accents (i.e. Zoidberg's... well let's say "bubbeling" voice) can never be translated to German. But I like to see both versions of an episode - the English and the German one.

Well, AFAIK the german version of the Simpsons is even better than the original one. I also cried out loud when I first heard the German voices instead of the English ones. But now - several episodes later - I can live with them. Not I. When I first heard the german version after hearing the original one, I was shocked. I think it was the Slurm Factory. What they have done to Hermes cannot be described. Though I know that some jokes and things like the different English accents (i.e. Zoidberg's... well let's say "bubbeling" voice) can never be translated to German. While I agree, that some jokes never can be translated, I dont agree with Zoidberg's voice. Why shall it be impossible to translate?

Well I don't want to pursuit the discussion which version sounds better. Either you like the English one or the German one, or you can live with both of them. It's personal taste and you know that you can't discuss about personal taste.

No comment... Or maybe... what do you suppose a Jamaican accent would sound in German? ;-) Originally posted by plex: I wouldnt call Hermes' german voice "personal taste". Do you?
