I think there's a world of difference between seasons 6 and 7, honestly. I think that "The Late Philip J. Fry" is one of the show's very best episodes of all time. To be honest, if season 6 consisted of 25 "Holiday Craptaculars" and "The Late Philip J. Fry", I'd probably still be happy that they'd revived the show, overall. Nothing in season 7 comes close to that level of quality.
And more importantly, season 6 didn't have too many horribly awful episodes. Sure, there were more than any previous seasons, but season 7 feels like the first season where there are more bad episodes than good ones.
If anything, I'd admit that the quality in season 7 is much more consistent than in season 6, but it's consistently lower than I'd say the average quality of season 6 was. Season 6 had some really poor episodes dotted around in it, but the highs were spectacular and I've always been one to favour a few amazing episodes and a few terrible episodes over consistently decent episodes (hence why I think I prefer season 6 to 1 and 2).
Also, it's ironic that you posted that Breaking Bad gif up there, because the fact that new Breaking Bad is airing along side new Futurama has only confounded things for me. Breaking Bad is every bit as incredible as it has ever been and it shows no signs of doing anything other than blowing us all away whilst it rides off into the sunset. Futurama, on the other hand, is nothing like as good as it used to be and each new episode is just furthering how tarnished the show becomes in my memory. I used to eagerly anticipate each new Futurama episode over the course of the week, to the point that I stayed up till 4 in the morning a few times, just so that I could watch new episodes as soon as possible (time differences). Nowadays, I get that excited for Breaking Bad, but I just don't care about Futurama nearly as much. I don't know, I suppose that contrast of quality just hasn't helped.
Anyway, I'm sorry if me having a different opinion to you is somehow threatening or something, Solid Gold Bender. As others like UnrealLegend and Danny have said, I like coming here and seeing the range of opinions that these episodes drum up and I don't see why mine is any less valid than anyone else's just because I feel like season 7 stinks. It's not like I'm just trolling; I've been justifying my opinion as the season goes on.

It's okay, Cyber_Turnip. None of us are going to agree with everyone's opinions. Personally, people call me crazy for putting The Cryonic Woman, Decision 2012 and Near-Death Wish so high on my list, but it's all cool. Honestly, I'd put Season 7 as the second weakest season of the entire series (The worst, for me being by far the Season 5 movies), but maybe the last two episodes at least one of them will be on par with Fun on a Bun for you. Otherwise, at least we can all say it was worth reviving the series just for The Late Philip J. Fry, right?
