Damn, there was an ep I mentioned a while ago that not many people talk about, give me a minute to remember. Can't remember, but here are some examples: Spanish Fry Love and Rocket The 30% Iron Chef

Until yesterday I'd say Love & Rocket, but that got brought up yesterday. Great ep, possibly one of the best, but rarely rated alongside the all-time greats... I also think that Fry & The Slurm Factory is underrated. It's not that it gets criticised much, but to me it's one of the very best eps ever, but not many seem to share that view and look at it more as kinda average I guess ...

Love and Rocket has already been mentioned, but I would also like to mention Bend Her. I thought it had some spectacularly funny lines, and I really enjoyed Coilette's character, thinking she made fun of stereotypes about women, as well as the people who make or perpetuate those stereotypes. "Oh please, you've never gone on a date just because you were hungry?" Some people accuse it of being crass, but I would say it's just Bender being crass and vulgar... like he always is. A great episode that is either ignored or bashed on here.
Deep South deserves more attention. I'll agree. I think a lot of these episodes are solid, and a solid episode of Futurama is as good as the best episodes of most other television shows. The bar for quality is raised much harder then Futurama, so they REALLY have to pull out all the stops to make a "best episode" like in TLPJF.
I also really enjoyed Proposition Infinity. At first I wasn't sure I liked the idea (Family Guy's "gay" episodes are always pretty unfunny, hypocritical and anvilicious, there's a reason why liberals hate them as much as the conservatives do, similar to Bruno. I mean seriously, acting like a sexually depraved stereotype but ten times worse in front of homophobic rednecks is going to challenge their view on gay people... how?). But for the most part it was handled rather nicely. So I was pleasantly surprised. But what really made me like the episode was the quality of the writing and the jokes. Rebirth had left me underwhelmed, and the less said about the next two episodes, the better... But PI gave me back my faith in the series. It had so many great lines and Futurama wackiness, and while it was topical, it did give it much more of a futuristic twist, so it didn't feel too unFuturamy. My favorite line is: "I love Amy. I've finally found someone I want to spend the rest of her life with!"
Underrated episode with some great jokes, but gets bashed to much because of its topical nature. Plus I have seen some people who purely dislike it because of homophobic reasons (not on this board of course, but on a few others.) I roll my eyes whenever I see someone ranting about "the gay agenda" and whatnot.

I agree, it's a fantastic episode (#4 on my top 10 list in fact)
Sweet. I'm glad I'm not the only one who rates that episode so highly (it's in top 20 territory for me). It's one of the funniest Leela episodes ever, and I love the Fry/Bender conflict, and Free Waterfall Sr. is probably the funniest member of that ill-fated family (with the possible exception of Hutch). And I love when the show tackles an environmental issue with cheeky ambivalence. Oh, and speaking of tackling political issues: I guess we don't really discuss "A Head in the Polls" all that much, despite the fact that it establishes Nixon as a recurring character (and Earthican president), which is a pretty big deal. It's not a favorite of mine, but it's certainly one of the better episodes from season two. I remember that when TBS used to air the show on weekday afternoons, one of their promos had a clip of Bender saying "Bodies are for hookers and fat people"--and that line alone is among my favorites of the series. Also: Future Stock. Easily one of the most hilarious episodes of the series. I have to rewind the argument between Farnsworth and Hattie ("I move that your cat stinks, and is ugly!") several times every time I watch it. And I like "The Honking," too. I don't understand why people rag on it so much. It's a little wacky, sure, but I love seeing the trio embarking on zany transcontinental hijinks! It also showcases the dynamic between the Fry, Leela, and Bender in a nice way, and is one of the better episodes to deal with the jealousy inherent in Fry and Bender's friendship.
