I'm excited for "Yo Leela Leela"...but, then again, I'm one of those suckers who likes "A Leela of Her Own," to which most people are preemptively comparing YLL.

Both episodes have good potential humor wise, but they can also seem really odd and un-Futuramaish, especially YLL. I'm still looking forward to them though, Futurama seldom go as wrong as I think it will.

I'm personally quite worried that YLL may end on a similar note to ALOHO. I'm also worried "big shot" Leela may be turned into a grossly unlikeable character in that episode. I hope I'm wrong on both counts.
Even if Leela is unlikeable in YLL, I feel like it will be in service of the story. Whenever a character displays particularly egregious behavior, it is addressed in the episode, and resolved by the character in question eventually seeing the error of his or her ways. Farnsworth apologizes at the end of Wild Green Yonder for taking bribes and putting money ahead of science; Fry learns his lesson at the end of "Futurestock"; Leela acknowledges (and is driven to madness by) her role in Fry's death in "The Sting"; and even Bender feels bad about almost killing Fry in "Ghost in the Machines." If Leela is a total jackass in YLL, I at least have faith that it will be for some greater purpose in the context of the episode.

The weaker or just more forgettable episodes tend to be ones with more...."down to earth" story lines, provided they don't also have a really strong emotional story to work with like Jurassic Bark or Fryrish, anyway. Although with that said, there are certainly exceptions to that (loves me some Futurestock and Bender Should Not Be Allowed on TV).
I don't have particularly low expectations for Yo Leela Leela or anything, but it does strike me as one of those plots where the episode itself would have been somewhat forgettable in past seasons. But as with any Futurama episode, I'm still going into expecting to enjoy it, and will be very surprised if I don't. True duds are pretty rare for Futurama, at least IMO.
Silence of the Clamps looks rad, though. I love the Robot Mafia, and just the idea of making a Clamps-centric episode (and it's not like he'll be the only one carrying it, it seems like more of a Bender show to begin with anyway) is so funny that I can't help but be stoked.

Even if Leela is unlikeable in YLL [...]
I definitely read that as "unkillable" and spent the better part of a minute trying to figure out what you meant ("what, you think she should die in YLL?" Heh). Excellent, DannyJC13! Also, finally. They sure do make you all wait a while.

Unkillable? No character is unkillable. Hell, even Killbots are killable!

If she's unlikable enough in that episode, her being unkillable could also be frustrating. I doubt she'll be quite that unlikable, though.

I was going to say, "Then shouldn't that go in the other thread?" but then I remembered that the other thread's for speculation, not idle speculation.

Comedy Central did put a clip of "Yo Leela Leela" up, leia (it's linked in the news thread), and I thought it was pretty solid. I've been excited for this episode from the start (we haven't had a good Leela-centric episode in a while), and that clip just confirmed my suspicion that YLL won't be as bad as everyone is expecting it to be.

I think "Reincarnation" can go either way, honestly. I'm hoping it's a classier affair than the Holiday Spectacular, but who knows? I'm not all that excited for it, but since they're supposed to be showing the anime clip in its entirety (or thereabouts) at Comic Con, I guess we'll have more to comment on then. On that note, are any PEELers attending Comic Con? I know some have in the past, but they weren't really regular posters. Also: Welcome to PEEL, SpaceGoldfishfromWazn. You have a really long user name I hope you like it here.

I was rather disappointed by the anime segment's artstyle, as it doesn't really look like anime, more like the pseudo-half-assed "anime" style you see on cereal boxes and pencil cases marketed towards 12 year olds.
This bothered me too, but I expected it. I wish cartoons that had anime parodies would put more effort into understanding the art style. I also would have thought it was mainstream enough now for the stock parodies to extend past giant robots, bad out of sync acting, and Sailor Moon. It'll probably still be funny, though. And I like that they have eye colors!

Well I love Sailor Moon, so I will be happy to have my favorite character wear an outfit that references the series. I do hate the art style, if I wanted to see that, I'd go on Deviantart. True about the eye colors! I never thought about what they would be. I wonder if Fry has irish ancestry? (Green eyes and red hair) And thankyou Gorky, I am enjoying it so far. This place makes Nutley look like crap.

I really didn't care much for the new Yo Leela Leela clip. I speculate that it'll be the worst episode of 6B because nothing about it is doing anything for me. We shall soon see...

Yo Gabba Gabba is a terrible show. I feel sorry for kids these days.
Likewise. Everytime I have to babysit, part of my soul dies. I hope one day Nick Jr will be made to answer for its numerous crimes against humanity. That being said, I love Pocoyo. It helps that Stephen Fry narrates it. And where did you see the clip Otis? I can never find the clips, or if I do find them, I can't watch them in the UK.

Here's the clip for "Yo Leela Leela" on YouTube (courtesy of Rush over in the news thread). I've watched it a few times now, and I still think it's pretty funny; I have higher-than-usual hopes for this episode, but I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Damn, I was right. I hope that All The Presidents Heads will be good. I'm confident it will be, but my main concern is it could end up getting a bit silly. I'm also concerned it might break continuity again in some way, but hopefully not...
