I just enailed them about the cancelling of Futurama, and got this response

'FUTURAMA will be back next Season will a full season of ALL-NEW episodes!!!

I assume thats just episodes that have already been made?  Sorry I'm just not clear on the situation.  I assume that the next series will be the last?

You're right, those episodes are holdovers from production seasons 3 and 4. Because the show got pre-empted so much, a backlog of episodes developed, there are 16 left.

I smell Copy & Paste! 

Well, at least they got a response from FOX! It's been a couple of months now, since I sent my email their way, and guess what? No response whatsoever!

I get the feeling that Fox is only responding to the new letters, sent since Season 4 ended. Maybe they were too lazy to reply to the ton of letters sent when the show was announced on hiatus.

Even if we do not get a season 5 - or whatever it would be - my hope is that 100,000 signatures is enough to at least convince Fox that a DVD release would be profitable.  (That would be Region 1.  No gloating from the rest of you.)

The best I ever got out of them was this:
Before a rerun of "Luck of the Fryrish" in the United States, they had this quote kick off the night: "Futurama, followed by Sunday's best!" (Which of course implies that Futurama is not among Sunday's best.) I fired off an e-mail immediately, I got a human response asking me to specify when I saw it. I replied, they (are you lying down?) admitted they were wrong and actually fixed it.

I've just a reply to MY e-mail, and it's EXACTLY the same message as above.

In my opinion, FOX are keeping their cards close to their chest, and it's unlikely that we'll get any solid decision on a 5th production block until next year.
