Speaking of Cubert and Dwight (and this might get quite off topic), why haven't they aged between year 3000 and the current 3009 (soon 3010)? The others are excusable, but heck, they're kids :P

As it is uncertain what happened with the wormhole and all, maybe the ones not on the ship actually are gone now. Heck of a weird excuse to throw away rather dull (imho) characters like Dwight and Cubert. To me they have always seemed like "the new spin on the Simpsons - they get another child!!!!111". Unfortunately.

Stupid question then, but why did Fry survive? Did I miss something or was it pot luck?...
don't have a clue he probably hid under something
Maybe Leela threw herself on top of him to shield him. Sounds like something she'd do.
Yes. That sounds... Hollywood.

Looks interesting though it is slightly confusing. On the surface the rebirth 'noone remembers anything' idea could be a lame ass attempt at using the reset button to return everything back to normal...but isn't one of the later episodes to do with Fry always being late for dates with Leela or something along those lines? Doesn't sound like they're going to do a reset if that's true.
Wouldn't surprise me if they spent the majority of the first episode making it appear as a reset is inevitable before revealing the opposite. You know, just to fuck with people.
We've got a hell of a long wait until we find out though.
Wish we had a time machine...

I think the first episode will be about Fry and the Professor attempting to clone the remains of the others. Dunno how that will make up an entire episode though, but I'd love to see them try.
What do you think of the Anthology of Interest? Groening and Cohen always talked about how they would have loved making that into a bigger tradition... would you like it to become one? I would, but in that case high-quality shows, not like what Simpson's Treehouse of Horror turned out to become after seven episodes.

You want a real answer? Its not real maybe I dont know.... maybe the distance between the Earth and the Sun has changed affecting the gravity on Earth and making the aging process slower i.e. being able to live to 160+ years.
Man, that truly is what I call a real answer. Cheers!

Holy crap! This episode is going to be weird. How'd Fry survive? How'd Zapp "survive"? Will Bender be along to help (since his head works independently from his body)? What is the Professor's plan? I really want to know!
Good call on having Fry scream his head off (not literally, of course). For all intents and purposes the crew, which includes his friends, close acquaintances, and, oh yeah, THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE, are dead, so nice of the writers to bring up the proper emotion he should feel (and several of the fans will feel as well).
From the looks of it, the rest's revivals will probably be the major focus of the episode. Since that's likely true, I think we can stomp quick solutions right out the bat. For example, if the Professor was going to clone their bodies, why wouldn't he have put their head's in jars? The Chronoton Pool from 409 will likely not be used, since that'd be too simple, and they need to fill 19 more minutes.
I'm just... wow! I honestly wasn't expecting this. Or I was expecting something similar, but didn't think they'd have the balls. I just hope the episode ends as "strangely touching" as Maurice remarked. You don't "kill" characters that so many people have grown attached to without it being a big deal. You don't bring characters back without it also being a big deal. The Star Trek writers knew that (II and III). Hopefully the Futurama writers do too.
June 10th, how I long for you!

Yeah, I'm so glad that scene wasn't played for laughs. Although of course that would have been damn near impossible to manage, even for the Futurama writers. Damn I wish we could have seen what happened next. I'm not sure I can survive until June! Angst...overload...must...rel ieve...tension... (insert Fry's scream of anguish here).

Well clearly they aren't "perminatly" dead because the other episode info has been leeked i.e. the Zapp and Leela episode and the Amy and Bender Episode.
Hm? I haven't heard of leaked infos. Where are these?

Yikes. I agree with all the feelings of shock and utter excitement. I was a little bothered by the Comedy Central joke since it was similar to the rather silly beginning of BBS, but this time the tone was indeed a bit different, specifically a bit more urgent and for a good reason. I'm just... wow! I honestly wasn't expecting this. Or I was expecting something similar, but didn't think they'd have the balls. Well, I certainly don’t want to start any argument with you over this, but there was a similar moment involving just Kif in BWAAB which did end up being less of a big deal than it would have deserved, but we both know that it shouldn’t have happened in the first place and that this episode is presumably going to be nothing like that at all. I too wish nothing but the best for the new season and hope that this bolder-seeming path the writers are taking pays off!

It somehow was obvious all along that he would return. Dunno why.
