Firstly, the Shapeshifter is not a recognised PC race, and is not intended for use by players.  Secondly, you must really stink to have a THAC0 of 12/14 at level 9, particularly considering you should have weapon specialisation, and a low base THAC0 anyway, assuming that you are using the fighter class, which you must considering you are using scimitars.  Though perhaps you could only be using a Blade character kit, in which case it is reasonable. 

Besides, can't you use something more original than dual scimitars?  I mean, you may as well put up a giant sign saying "Drizzt Do'Urden ripoff".

Anyway, I'd better go back now, it is time for my pills.

Don't think you can outrule Cherrn with your D & D stuff. I'm sure he can and does have Shadowrun characters with Mana Blast Level 8 using his Level 9/11 Sorcery/Spell Casting competence

Hey, I've been playing D&D since before you were born...
First of all, Drizzt Do'Urden of Daermon N'a'Shezbaernon, eigth house of Menzoberranzan is my alltime favorite Forgotten Realms character besides Liriel Baenre, that's why I chose to mimic him.
Second of all, the Shapeshifter is a Druid kit. (Allright, so I stole that out of Baldur's Gate 2...I apologize, I was low on ideas) A druid can use scimitars, you arse! Anyway, would you like me to take out my 6th level Rashemen Berserker? With a THAC0 of 6 and HP of 89 when he goes berserk, and an immunity to charm spells? May not be the greatest, but at least he's AD&D'tically correct.

Anywho, I'll just cast my wonderful Hellblast on force level 8, and yes...with my sorcery/spellcasting on 9/11...that sounds allright. Hmm...I wonder if that's enough to slay a Western Dragon...shall we find out?

Also, while I admit your 6th level beserker may be impressive, his beserk ability is near useless in any practical sense, as he requires a significant amount of time to go into his frenzy, and even when he does, the ensuing fatigue can be deadly in a protracted fight.  Regardless of that, how could you rip off someone as great as Drizzt Do'Urden?  Next thing you know you're going to get a magical panther statuette, and you'd better not be wearing elven chain!

Shapeshifters? Scimitars? Weapon specialization? Mana burn? In D&D?

Things have obviously changed a lot since I played. Do they still have that ridiculous falling rule (10' = 1d6, 20' = 1d6+2d6, 30' = 1d6+2d6+3d6, etc.)?

Remember when the "A" in "AD&D" meant that you had that new-fangled Player's Handbook (which cost more than the original three books plus the Greyhawk book plus a handful of crystal dice)?

It was all downhill once the Dungeon Master's Guide came out. Or maybe it's just that that was about the time I got a decent computer and no longer needed other human beings to play games....

Though with his new sort of behaviour, he is moving more towards being like Dexter (don't tell me you've never seen "Dexter's Laboratory"), which means he'll also be slightly less annoying.
