There's a nice article up now with Matt Groening and David Cohen.  They seem hopeful about a return of some kind, and there's some funny quotes from Cohen too.

"Three months ago, I would have said we were going to start tomorrow," says writer David X. Cohen, who collaborated with Groening on Futurama. "And one month ago I would also have said we were going to start tomorrow. So ..." He pauses. "My current estimate is that we're starting tomorrow."

Oh wow!  After reading that, I pray there is new hope out there for all of us at Peel and beyond!  Now I have to re-watch all those commentaries to find out David Cohen's E-mail address.  On the plus side, most of those commentaries were great to listen to.

Good article. Not much we didn't already know, but it's nice to hear it from an official source. Plus Cohen is always good for some funny lines. "I only want to tell stories about robots."

Oh and we all love to hear them acknowledging their fans, right?  ;)

As an aside: Seven? Ten? Very imaginative names for your tv stations, Avstraylija. What, you blew all your alloted imagination on Wollongong, Toowoomba and chazzwazzers?  :p

I just read the article.  It looks as though Matt Greoning is doing everything he can to being Futurama back!  Even if it is a DVD movie!

I don't know about you all, but that is what I've been praying for every night as I go to sleep.

No need for a lack of a life to find the article, it was in today's Green Guide (which comes with The Age, and I presume also the Sydney Morning Herald). Looks hopeful, although it's more confirmation of what we've already been told than news.

<Insert my response from the last seven times a DVD movie was pseudo-confirmed>

<Add some non-facetious optimism since it was Matt and DXC, and I heart those guys>

<Finish with crude joke directed at Teral>

That sombrero keeps me up at night. Also it would be nice to see more Shippy. But that definitely takes a back seat to the sombrero thing.
