Well as a teenager in Britain every week i buy a mens magazine called Zoo. As i was flickin' through i happened to come upon a Family Guy review for "Freakin' Sweet"...

Why Buy it? It refuses to go away, so you might aswell appreciate Family Guy for the genius sitcom it is. Cancelled twice - and reinstated after a public outcry - this is one show that won't follow FUTURAMA TO THE SCRAPEHEAP. Instead the creators have compiled  five of the best episodes from the first three series on to one DVD.

But I don't like Family Guy!

Did you just flame Futurama on a Futurama messageboard?

Edit: Also Family Guy topics belong in the "It's Got A TV Board".

I'm not sure what you were trying to prove in this post, but I don't think just saying "you might as well appreciate it" is going to prompt people to go buy it.  Especially since most people who would probably already own the dvd sets...

I feel a little differently about the new Futurama dvd coming out, since I actually care about the extras offered on there.  I have both FG sets already and I've never listened to any of their commentaries or anything, so I can't say there's really anything making me want to buy it.

I had that dvd. It sucked. All it had in the way of new stuff, was 1 deleted scene, 1 new commentary(which isn't all that great if you've ever listened to a family guy commentary} And plugs for American Dad(which is an incredibly stupid show)and the only thing worth anything was the peek at the new season of family guy, but that's not worth 14.99.

THE "WHY BY IT?" IS THE ARTICLE, WHICH I DID NOT WRITE. I POSTED THIS THREAD TO SHOW YOU ALL HOW MUCH FUTURAMA GETS SLAGGED OFF EVEN BY A CHEAP WEEKELY MAGAZINE. AND MAY I JUST SAY WHY THE HELL WOULD I JOIN PEEL IF I HATED OR EVEN DISLIKED FUTURAMA IN ANY WAY.

p.s sorry bout the caps but i am angry!

Oh, I understand then.  I guess you should have just made it a little more obvious that the whole paragraph was a quote; it doesn't really stand out as being one.

The writer of the article itself needs to educate themselves a little anyway...  They seem to use FG's DVD pack as a reason for why it won't "go the way of Futurama."  When, in reality, Futurama is about to come out with a dvd exactly like this one.

Smooth move, writer.

Welcome to PEEL, Flip.

Don't be angry.  It wasn't clear from your post that you were quoting an article and not posting your own opinions.  It was natural for people to misunderstand you and respond in the way that they did.

But... those magazines have naked ladies in them!

What would your mother say?  :nono:

Seriously, the opinion of anyone writing for Zoo shouldn't be valued. With the Futurama dvd coming out in a few weeks time over here, it's a bit weird how they're reviewing a family guy dvd that came out ages ago.

Dumbass wanker mags, the likes of which I have never seen grace the local (US) newsstand. Read the Times.
