The episode itself had nothing to do with PEEL. It's the fact that "Raging Bender" has been the "classic episode" for as long as anyone can remember.

... Who needs Smell-O-Vision... [* Toing*] I wonder if this phenomenon has any bearing on using the smell-o-scope, or its operation (IE. 'under the hood')? Maybe the arc welding smell is the smell of the oxygen missing from a space. Umm... - Oxygen is odorless, therefore its presence or absence is too.
- Vacuum (IE, space) is the absence of matter.
- Just as without matter present to support those vibrations (longitudinal waves) our bodies perceive as sound, vacuum cannot suspend particles, molecules, whatever that our bodies perceive as smells.
Therefore:
- The aroma Mr. Pettit describes must be something the environment of space deposits on the suits, helmets, etc., that, when diffused by air, our bodies sense as a particular aroma.
I'm anything but an expert in welding, but I understand the by-products of arc welding include metal fumes, oxides, ozone, and so on - many of which might be present in near-Earth space, and combinations of which could produce the aforementioned aroma. [*Crickets chirp*] Ahm... [*SpaceCase clears throat*] ... yeah... If anyone cares, I'll be under my rock...

That question is evidently based on the incorrect assumption that Venus is currently under the same rock as I. Originally posted by HYPNoBRECKY: Has anybody seen the rock Spacecase is under?? If you wash off the dust, I think it's the biggest Diamond in the UNIVERSE!! Even bigger than the one the Native Martian Bug people flew away with after kidnapping Amy!! Huh? Huh? It pays to crawl under a rock now and again!! [*SC looks up at underside of rock*] Hmm... That song is also the background music for the main menu in Battlefield Vietnam. Wow, never thought I'd segway Futurama to that.

I just hope a car hits the street sign in front of my old high school, and I find the mangled metal in the trash. Oh, the school is on Bender Avenue. Originally posted by JBERGES: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23258978/?GT1=10856
