...Continued from this closed thread
I recently picked up the comics adaptation of the upcoming movie Constantine.
Being a long time fan of the comic itself, I was appalled at the Americanization of such a great British character and even more horrified by the casting of Keanu in the lead role.
Anyhow, there's a panel in there where there's a boiler in the basement of some building, and one of the angles on it makes it looks like Bender's head.

Well, not really something that reminds you of Futurama, but I've often thought that the song My Bloody Valentine would work well as a basis for a Futurama fanfic. (Zapp kills Fry so he can be with Leela, or something like that.)

I also have a tendency to suggest singing American Pie when someone asks what we should do.

I was waiting for someone to make this thread.

This one time at church I saw a blue Thundercougarfalconbird.

Today I saw an issue of New Scientist that had 'parasites lost' on the front cover in shiny red letters.

Zmithy, I demand a picture ... or at least the issue number, so I can find a picture myself.

Mandy: does that song have anything to do with the song My Funny Valentine (like a parody or something)?

Watching other shows that have the character see or go to the future... I always laugh at that because their future ain't nearly as cool as Futurama's future!

EDIT: I also wanted to add that "Two Princes - Just go ahead now" by the Spin Doctors reminds me of Futurama a lot too. Everytime it comes on the radio I'm like "Love and Rocket!"

Bam...

Thats the biggest pic I could find (squint at the third red title, you should be able to make it out), its the Christmas day issue from last year.

I checked inside, and the article was just some crap about headlice, and a weird scientist that cultivates them on his leg hair to study.

Well, the name was taken from a band called My Bloody Valentine, as far as I know, and that was probably taken from My Funny Valentine. As far as I know, it's not actually a parody of anything. It's a song about a guy who kills another guy so he can be with his girlfriend. It's actually quite a good song.

When I was at Best Buy I saw the Beastie Boys CD, which was right next to the Beck CD, which happen to be next to the Hanson CD.

I watched an episode of Kim Possible last week.  Kim and Ron were watching a show that was very popular and they had this to say:

Ron: Oh please, are they still teasing that Charity and Dannie are gonna get together?
Kim: Like that's ever gonna happen. It would end the series.

You can definitely replace "Charity and Dannie" with Fry and Leela.  It seemed are Matt and David did was tease fans that Fry and Leela were going to get together.  But tragically it would lead to the show's end.  That and the fact FOX are jerks.

So there i was, driving to work today. 9 am this morning screeching Evanescence songs at the top of my lungs. And i notice that the really old guy in front of me is driving with his right turn signal on. The TMLH flashbacks i had had me giggling all through 'Breathe No More'

In school yesterday, my English teacher was giving us a list of vocabulary words, and one of them just happened to be warp. All of a sudden she started to talk about Star Trek,  and how much she loved it as a kid, and how she still loves it now. Then she started talking about Cryonics. I so wanted to raise my hand and say: "There is this show called Futurama and..."

edit: @ Fry's Nighmare: I went to that ZolaonAOL thing and I got the same answer. Odd piece of shit...

In Fred Meyer, I saw I.C. Winters brand bathrobes. Not quite uncanny, but it made me smile. I would've bought one, but I can't afford to buy frequent gag gifts for myself. As evidenced by the fact that I was shopping at Fred Meyer.

On a similar note, I knew someone with the last name of Wiener. He was from Alaska, which, as I understand it, is like 656,425 square miles of cryo-tube.

@ FN: Yes, that's exactly what I thought. I tried it with another chatbot dude and the thing didn't know what the hell I was talking about.

I looked around for anything that had to do with Futurama today while driving around. No such luck. Oh, the sad, sadness. I still have tomorrow, though.   :p

Edit: I confused myself so I put my wise words in to different words.

Currently, it is snowing like hell here in NJ so I was trapped at home all day. Me and my family broke out a copy of the boardgame "Trivial Pursuit" that we received for Xmas and played a game.

One of the TV trivia questions was as follows:
"In the hit TV series Futurama, what is the favorite drink in the year 3000?" With the answer being (of course): "Slurm".

Needless to say, I got that that question right.

There's a girl on my high school's swim team named Leela Miller. I saw it on the back of the team t-shirt and did a MAJOR double-take. It's the only time I've seen it spelled that way outside of Futurama. (Also, in middle school, they once called a LaBarbara Conrad to the office over the intercom...)

I was at a music store today, and picked up a CD with hits from the 70's. 2 of the songs immediately brought Futurama to mind: Car Wash and The Hustle  :D

In my class there was a boy talking, and then he said something like: "It was terribly nifty, mon!" with a thick accent. Another guy snickered at it, so he replied: "What, can't you tell I'm being Jamaican?"
Obviously, that reminded me of Hermes!

I went with my Mum yesterday to pick up her car which was serviced at the dealer....as we were waiting I looked around the car yard and was immediately reminded of the salesman trying to sell Fry the Thundercougarfalconbird

Actually I was also reminded of the Seinfeld episode where George and Jerry are at the car yard....

"Yeah right, I'm gonna get my car serviced at a dealer....why don't I just throw my money down the toilet....?!"

The Farnsworth Pavilion at N-o-r's school was discussed, as well.  Philo T. Farnsworth, essentially the inventor of the television (the idea was basically stolen from him), was at the World's Fair, next to General Motor's Futurama booth.  The rest is, well, history.

Actually, the name of the Futurama character reminds me of the Greek god, not the other way around, but whatever.
