Lost episode?

Has there ever been any rumors about a lost episode of Futurama?  Plus, has it ever been confirmed that there was a lost episode?

I haven't heard any rumors about a lost episode, but I'm certain that there was no confirmation of said episode.  If there was any, we'd have heard about it by now.

So "no, no lost episode."

A lost episode? Like what? An episode that has never been aired, or one that hasn't been produced, but written yet?

I guess that there isn't one that hasn't been aired yet, because it would have been kind of stupid for FOX if they would own a finished episode and not air it.  They would waste money then.

As far as I know there have been ideas for the next one around (Groening and DXC still have ideas, at least they keep telling it to us, their fans), but FOX didn't order any new seasons, and therefore these ideas were thrown away, or at leased forgotten for this moment.

Also I can't imagine that there was any producing work already for a new one, since that would have cost to much money.

I remember we've talked about that quite often here, it shouldn't be hard to find a topic covering it.
I'd search for it, but... I am already in my Pyjamas.

Seeing as each episode costs around a million dollars to make, I doubt that FOX would just let one fall by the wayside without being aired. This thread is about the same kind of stuff.  http://www.peelified.com/cgi-bin/Futurama/1-003818-1/

No lost episode, but FOX (and many other networks) produce (for example) 13 episodes, and only air 11. Clerks, on ABC, only aired two episodes even though 6 were made, and Firefly, on FOX, had 3 unaired episodes.

i heard a rumour a while back that they (don't ask me who exactly cos i don't know) were thinking of making a futurama film. no doubt this topic has been thoroughly discussed in this forum already so can anybody enlighten me?
is it possible or completely unlikely? godammit, it would be amazing.

Yes there were a lot rumours about a return or a movie, but both have been proven false by David X Cohen himself in a "Can't get enough Futurama" comment.

I heard that there are some early script ideas not in use. And I heard it long before that movie rumor website scare.

Yeah there were early unused scripts, but simply because the writers didn't finish them...such as the episode with Barbados Slim that Spanish Fry replaced...no extra episodes were ever put into production.
