More or less, the episode really didn't address Halloween, and for the question of a Halloween episode, not that I know of.

If I remember correctly, "The Honking" premired around Halloween, but its not an "offical" Halloween episode.

Does Bend Her count? Bender as a woman scared the crap out of me...... Oh, come on. Anyone who didn't get remotely disuturbed by that episode isn't human!

Seriously though, I think The Honking is the closest they got to a Halloween episode. The first act alone parodies several horror movies, and it was fairly dark as far as Futurama episodes go.

I always considered the AOI episodes to be like Futurama's Treehouse of Horrors.

AOI 1

Bender giant and destorys NNY like the giant billboards in the Simpsons

Leela kills everyone just like how Homer tried to his family for TV and beer.  It was so out of character.

Fry destorys the universe, isn't that scary.  That ended tragically, but it was funny.  Kind of how the most last parts of Simpson Halloween specials end unhappily but still is funny.

AOI 2

Bender becomes human, ala Frankenstein.

Fry's video game and Leela's Wizard of Oz parodies remind of the Simpson Halloween episodes where they parodied Fairy Tales and TV shows.  Where isn't really scary, but something that couldn't happen on a regular episode.

I wish there was an official Halloween episode. They could have shown how Halloween had changed in the future. Some great ideas could have come out of that.

A Halloween episode would've been awesome!  Imagine what possibilities would've came out of an episode like that!

The Honking is an episode that parodies a horror movie, so I guess in a way that one could've counted as a Halloween episode.  Who knows?  Maybe the Futurama comic book will have a Halloween-like story!

No wonder, considering that's exactly what the creators intended.

Yeah, a Halloween episode would have been great.  All I can think of offhand for such an episode would be a joke on the trick-or-treating safety rules.  Oh, and some weird aliens in costumes would be pretty much obligatory, I think.

Thinking of the lack of offical Halloween episodes makes me mourn all the senceless violence we've missed out on. Sure, we've seen people crushed, devoured, and insinerated, but have you seen the amount of gore they have in Tree House of Horor eps on The Simpsons? I mean, even as early as season five we got to see a gremlin holding Ned's severed head.

Okay, you can all start backing away from me at this point if you want, I can't blame you.

Leela killing everyone wasn't way out of character. It just goes to show that Leela's character is such she is only a wee tiny bit (not too much) of impulsiveness from being a murderer. Considering Leela's minor occurances of mental instability and her habit of supressing all internal issues where they can fester quietly as a mental illness, that doesn't seem unreasonable to me at all.

If there was a mini-marathon of Halloween episodes, it should go like this.

The Honking
Anthology of Interest 1
Anthology of Interest 2
Mother's Day(just kidding, but that episode was a bit creepy....old people love).

Futurama Comics #3 sort of has some Halloween-ish material near the end when they go to that planet filled with vampires.

I think a Haloween episode would have sucked because then they would have been ripping of the simpsons and i for one would not want futurama being like them. Anyway the AOI episodes where great, if only they did more!

A Halloween episode wouldn't necessarily have to be an anthology one too, and I think that episodes where they rip off The Simpson generalyl even work out better since in theory their would is so much more fantasy oriented. 300 Big Ones or whichever episode that was I thought was great, and the Anthologies just let us see whatever couldn't have been fleshed out into full episodes (...in one case at least I thought).

I would have loved to see a Hallowe'en episode. I'd love to see how different it is in the future and such, would have made a good ep I reckon  :)

Nah, Halloween doesn't exist in the time of Futurama. It is not held since the last ghosts died, circa 2800.

If they do, it won't be on Halloween cause they're having a 3-hour ATHF marathon. I don't think they will.

How about a third Anthology of Interest, only it's not a sequel to the sequel, but instead, a Halloween special. "Anthology of Horror!!!"

It could be sorta like the Simpson's "Treehouse of Horror"

i'd like to see a Halloween episode where Elzar kinaps orphans from the orphanarium so he can turn them into 'Cutey-Muffin Gumbo'(the cyber house rules), which goes on to become the most popular snack in New New York since popplers.

Correction of my previous post. I noticed Halloween being mentioned in actual Futurama episode, in Love and Rocket:

PE Ship: Lets become one!
Bender: I prefer two. That way we can still be a horse for Halloween.
