I've pretty much stuck to one desktop since I got my new computer, but when I upped to a higher resolution (1280x1024) I couldn't find that same wallpaper again to get the bigger size, so I decided it was time for a change:

Mmm... Elite-licious.  :D

Also Covenantastic.

Never seen the movie, but there's something about the poster that just appealed to me.  *shrug*

LAN, why don't you use that awsome wallpaper that you made yourself ?

I remember having it for 2 - 3 months.

Gah! You stole my thread title for NationStates. I therefore shun this thread.

*shun*

It's just big talk, I'll be back once I've got my new monitor  :D

Also, I agree with Xmpel. Your original series ST wallpaper was great - a little too cluttered for my personal desktop, though.

Yeah, me too, now that I've got absolute control over my desktop. While I was still on the family PC, that was the wallpaper I used right up until I switched PCs in October. But now that I've got a place for everything and everything in its place, I like a simpler wallpaper.

And sorry about the thread title.   :D It's a habit of mine to title recurring threads using taglines reminiscent of crummy movie sequels (see "I Hate School 2: Son of I Hate School" for an example). Colons are almost always involved in any case.

May I suggest Nationstates: All Blown to Hell as a title, given the recent developments?  :D

Hey, wait justaminute. The Empire Strikes Back is not a crummy sequel.  ;)

Actually, I rather like NationStates : The Drone Wars as a reference to Star War's Clone Wars.  :D

And just so I'm not totally offtopic, here's my incredible super-fangled really detailed desktop.

That's 1024 x 768 pixels of pure, unadulterated blue, baby!

(To be honest, I like backdrops which don't blend with the icons (all two of them, and one of them is temporary)). I also prefer abstract art for my desktop as opposed to something recognisable.

But its name was inspired by the crappy movie sequels (read: serials) of George Lucas' youth. Hence "Attack of the Clones", etc.

PS: What's that "Cybernetic Systems Whatsit" on the toolbar?

That's an assignment which I should have started about 10 weeks ago but which I have not. And it's due in for next Friday.   :p

And the forget.pdf is related to it.

Apparently it's not really that difficult, which is probably why I've held off on doing it for so long. (To increase the difficulty).  ;)

Hold down the shift key, then hit print scrn.  That will take a screenshot and copy to your clipboard whatever is on your screen.  Then open your favourite image program like Irfan or Photoshop, hit paste and viola!  A screencapture.

This probably has something to do with your keyboard configuration. On my keyboard, all the F1-12 keys are dual-function, and I have a button that switches between "F" mode and whatever else the button does. That means when I want to do a screen capture, I have to hit the button and switch the F keys to they other function. Check to see if something similar isn't the problem.

Also, on my keyboard I don't have to hit the "shift" key when I press PrtScn, so you might try that, maybe press the Control or Alt buttons. One of those combinations should work... eventually.   :p

PS: I also noticed that Spice Weasel neglected to say you need to have some kind of file open in Photoshop to paste the image into. This could also be your problem, if you didn't figure out that part on your own. I usually just create a new canvas, and Photoshop autosizes it to the size of whatever image is in the clipboard.

still can't figure it out. But anyway here is the picture that i use as my background.
i have it as a link cause it's full sized.

 http://www.digitalblasphemy.com/graphics/freeg/skysong2.jpg

EDIT: i got it to take the screengrab but it only places like 1/4 of it in the file. So i get the top left of the grab but nothing from the rest.

Yes I neglected to mention that you may need to open a new image in Photoshop.  I tried my original post's method using MS Paint.  I held down shift then hit Print Scrn, then I opened MS Paint, clicked on the edit tab and my paste function was active, and bam, a screenshot.  I did not have to open a new file.

Since I watched that brilliant episode when they went to the UK, I thought that I change my wallpaper to this sexy picture of Homer.

Does anybody know a better wallpaper then this?

I love Venus' wallpaper. If I'm not mistaken that is the Aurora. Seeing that is something on my list of things to do, including seeing a total solar eclipse.
