I double post to show my fanfic.
Not Quite Eden The crash killed her with a burst of flame and shrapnel.
At least, that’s what Fry thought at the time. It hadn’t been a serious problem, just a fuel line leak. Fry and Leela had gone into a state of hibernation. By the time Leela was alerted to the problem, the ship was going down fast. Fry was surprised his captain didn’t try harder; she let the ship go down without much of a fight. He could tell it hurt her to do so; all her skills couldn’t stop them from collision. For such a minor problem, it was a devastating crash. Most of the ship had collided with the planet, sending metal from the hull everywhere. In an effort to save them, Leela tried a skid landing. She only succeeded in shaving the undersides of the ship and sending up more sparks. When the dark matter reactor finally decided to explode, it did so fantastically. Fire rained down on what was left of the Planet Express. When Fry looked back on it, his panicking cries seemed silly. As did the frantic searching he did after realizing he was alive. Okay, he was alive. It was time to put out the fire in his hair (more screaming) and search for Leela. Fry had awakened just in time to run from the blast, tripping from the impact and blacking out again. When he came to, Leela was nowhere in sight. He was scraped, bleeding, and his clothes were tattered. Fry knew how fortunate he was to be alive after that kind of crash. He just hoped Leela was as lucky. It didn’t matter that Leela couldn’t fit into the rations cabinets-he tore them apart along with the refrigeration unit, the dashboard, and Leela’s underpants drawer (which was miraculously unharmed). Fry was beginning to peel apart the hull when he saw Leela. Not dead, not ripped apart, not bleeding to death-just Leela. She was on her knees, rummaging through the wreck with her bare hands. The coarse edges of the wreck were cutting up her hands and arms, and she was pretty singed and shaky, but otherwise all right. Fry was instantaneously relieved. Leela searched through the remains, looking as if she lost something monumental. Probably her bracelet, Fry thought. That’s what she holds most important. Fry was being a bit bitter, but after all his failed tries with Leela he couldn’t help it.
“Fry, where are you? I know you’re here, you just can’t be dead, you can’t be! If you can survive killer robots and space bees, a crash can’t kill you; you’re luckier than me! I’m here, Fry, you have to be!”
I’ll be damned…she cares about me. His mood improved instantly. Of course she’s looking for me. I was doing the same thing!
Leela had changed toward Fry as of recently, when they met their parallel--married--selves. Leela had promised not to lie to him, and he resolved then to stop asking Leela out on dates every minute like a desperate teen. They had gone on one date after that incident. Nothing as special as Fry would have liked, but Leela seemed to have fun and even let Fry put his arm around her. The two had done similar things later, too. Not dates, really; Leela would ask Fry to come along on an errand, or the two would go over to Leela’s apartment and watch a movie--Innocent little friend things. Fry recently admitted to Leela that he enjoyed their renewed “friend” status. It was almost like the old days, before she knew he was in love with her. Leela felt comfortable around him again, talked to him, laughed. Leela had even told Fry he was her “best friend”. As good as that made him feel, Fry wished it could go further.

It's not that bad! The right arm reminds me of that one Calvin and Hobbes strip where Calvin becomes paper-thin, though. Also that Teen Leela (?) one is awesome.

Yeah, I had a dream recently too. One where did Simpsons fanart. And then I woke up. Sorry man, the only Groening I do is Futurama, and the only requests I take are for that or for something offtopic in my style. Mr. Sparkle was a one-shot that took me a long time with a lotta reference. Shauky Urrrrrr....do me a big favor and stay away from the "-y" nicknames. I have a client who refuses to remember this and makes out checks to "Becky"
