Frakkin' A, man, that was incredible. Though I think the TV broadcast has been ruined for me, what with seeing it on a massive screen without commercial interruptions.
Although the extended, unrated dvd looks to be about twice as long as the broadcast version, what with all the stuff they showed in the ad for it. Seriously, they showed two distinct storylines in it that didn't make the version I just saw.
In conclusion, Razor is awesome and I can't wait to buy the dvd.

About Razor 1-Weeee! original Cylon centurions and fighters, even they fit 3 Centurions inside each raider... it was so a big moment when the old raider is taken inside Pegasus and all major characters are standing in front of it.. its like the meeting of two worlds.. by the way, the old Cylon centurions didnt appear much ineficient to me compared to new ones.. maybe a bit weaker but they aim a hell more better than in the original series 2-Now im really confused, the subtitles i used are crap so i dont understood fully whats with that hibrid.. please explain.. that was the first step from machines to organic beings... and.. after that why he left and isolated himself in that strange BaseStar with the guardians (old centurions/raiders).. and what was that ship doing there near the fleet in the way to earth? 3- Will they explain whats with the hibrids (including this one) that they appear to get your name and see your life without even looking at you as if they were gods? 4- Starbuck will lead the humanity to its doom.. coming from a Cylon, will it be true, or its just another lie?.. now we have just two sides apart from the cylons and colonials, the guardians (wiped out?) and whoever talked to Starbuck just before her "death" 5-Im confused

Flashback 7 is out: http://youtube.com/watch?v=2mvJ0KYoBs0 well... i thought there would be 8 but this one seems the last. So now lets go with the heavy and unforgatable mistakes here:
Acording to Adama`s career , seen in "Hero" and by many coments of him of the old Cylon war... Adama started his Viper career in the fleet and shot down a Cylon fighter a year or so before the armistice signing.. Also is clear that his favorite Viper was 7242NC .
But in the flashbacks Adama only flew one combat mission in the very last day of the war, and he uses a Viper designated 1104 wich is destroyed...

B'oh! ^^ I think it's too farfetched that Adama parachutes right into some building where experiments on humans take place.
Did anyone get a better look at who was in the bathtub? Did it look like Tigh or the one that tried to make Starbuck fall in love with him? Was it him behind the door too? ?
Will we ever get to see that fancy spear of (some god?) that Starbuck found? Were the 4 new discovered cylons ever tested in Baltar's lab? Why not just a new cylon blood transfusion for Roslin ? :P

I have the same questions. I read a YouTube comment from one of the flashback videos and for your question # 2 it said: Well they say in the movie that this hybrid was the first step in the Cylon transition from being purely mechanical to becoming organic beings, and that afterwards there were other attempts. But this Hybrid and the Cylons surrounding it were never scrapped, and according to Sharon the Hybrid may still be trying to evolve, hence him capturing the science team from Galactica. Now for something different: Am I the only one thinking "Adama " When they see the president of Pakistan in the news? There's something about him, I just can't put my finger on it. EDIT: I'm not the only one who noticed. There's more than just the physical likeness too. Link one Link two

I got it today... well, it has a couple of added shots, some shots are longer.. it has uncensured language and some flashbacks added (the best) One importan thing.. In the first two flashbacks, they screwed up the hell a lot the continuity (RDM involved, he came from Star Trek and in Star Trek they did nothing but violate continuity constantly, wich is quite anoying because its like if the writer is laughting at your inteligence/memory) In the series is stated that Adama was a famous Viper pilot, hero of the first Cylon war..and even we see in the series itself his hystorial.. in wich is stated that he started to fly Vipers in combat 2 years before the armistice...and from the mini that his favorite Viper was the 7242NC and that ship "taken him out of many problems".. Now in the 2 first flashbacks ..is stated that Adama was a rookie, that only flew ONE mission in the war..in wich he shot down 3 Cylon raiders and lost his Viper colliding with a 4th... thats hardly a record to make him a hero... also in his "only" war mission to top all he flys Viper 1104 and destroys it.. not 7242NC.. and Viper 1104 is used later in the series by HotDog and some other pilots.. Now.. ignoring the Viper issue.. is interesting that those two heavily conflictive first flashbacks have been deleted from the finished movie.. so .. should we just ignore them too? because if we ignore them and if we watch Razor without having in count the web-flashbacks.. we just asume that Adama is allready a worthy Viper pilot and that this is just the last mission of the war and that Adama flew many others... even we can asume that they rotate Vipers and just today Adama was not flying the 7242NC (in the series no pilot fly allways the same Viper, the 7242NC itself has been flown by Lee and Kat among others and 1104 has been flown by StarBuck, HotDog and Kat too) .. I would settle for that.. they screwed up with the first two flashbacks, so we ignore them and keep with the last 5 wich are included in the movie and dont violate any contiunity.. problem solved

In the extended version of Razor there is some very hints of what may happen in season 4 and final in the lines of the first hybrid: " And the fifth, still in shadow, will claw toward the light, hungering for redemption that will only come in the howl of terrible suffering."Mmm... the final Cylon will be throught terrible sufering.. This hints toward Roslin, summed to her visions and her pain just after jumping into the ionic nebula.. But i would hate her being a Cylon because it would be too obvious by now... and i love this hint line from the hybrid: I can see them all. The seven, now six, self-described machines who believe themselves without sin. But in time, it is sin that will consume themThis makes clear he is speaking about the seven "evil" Cylons..(and that he knows that models 3 have been boxed) and that he consider they to be wrong in their doing.. Now we now know that a faction of old Cylons followed this hybrid, the Guardians... so the Guardians are presumably enemies of the "new" Cylons.. that summed to the rumour that : spoiler in spoiler . . . . . . . there will be a Cylon rebelion inside the Cylon society..new Centurions may rebell against the humanoid models.. maybe the old centurions provoce somehow their new models to revel or be selfaware. The main diference between old and new centurions, apart from appeareance and strenght/speed is that old Centurions were self-aware and newer ones not. Plus in Razor Sharon says that the Guardians are old Centurions that "somehow scaped scraping" so unless the consciences of old centurions are the ones that now are inside the humanoid bodies... at some point in Cylon history there was a big treason against old centurions perpetrated by the humanoid models who after eliminating the old Cylons, made themselves new Centurions with no self-awareness.. This could provocate a really big rift in cylon society if the Guardians know how... maybe all guardians were destroyed in the guardian Basestar.. but maybe there are more Basestars belonging to the guardians.. This could bring a really interesting plotline and unfolding of events..., but dont think so.. there is so much to see and so little time in season 4 (20 eps)

So, the local station decided to start Galactica (and TNG) from the top in 2008. Decided to give it a chance. So far I've only seen the pilot miniseries (all aired in one massive 3 hour block).
In a nutshell: very, very promising and an interesting new take on the show, though not without a weakness or two.
The build up to the destruction of the Twelve Colonies was pretty good. I particular like the expansion of the fleet (AFAIR the Colonial Fleet in the original 1978 series consisted of 5 battlestars (with 7 other destroyed during the war)) to more realistic numbers and the cause of it's destruction being complacency, treachery and surprise, rather than mindbogglingly naive stupidity and incompetence. The way the Viper handles in battle (with strafing, very liberal use of weapons, what looks like Newtonian physics, etc) is also a welcome update, the armament of Galactica as well. A battleship this size should carry such an arsenal of weapon arrays.
I guess they could've played the actual destruction of the Colonies up a bit, as it is the only real image we get of it is the situation with Boomer's Raptor. But the desperate message sinks in eventually, when the president decides to sacrifice thousands to save tens of thousands as Apollo puts it.
Speaking of Boomer's Raptor; Although I initially liked the rewriting of Balthars character from moustache-twirling, goateed villain to self-centered opportunist, it remains to be seen if he was worth sacrificing Boomer's copilot. The rest of his scenes were dragging, and could outlive their welcome real fast. Hopefully they'll find something else for him to do than agonizing over how to protect his own tail, while trying to score some Cylon ditto, because that is already irritating me. Then again he does look enough like Alexander Siddig that I'll grant him some leeway.
Humanoid Cylons, eh? Didn't see that one coming, but intriguing nonetheless (and the Toaster Cylons looked awesome). Although their near-magic resemblance of humans is too much, I like the potential in this for conflicts. Too bad about Boomer though, I really started to like her.
Generally I like a lot of the new ideas in this incarnation and the retelling/rewriting is mostly positive, one of the exceptions are the idea that the Cylons were created by humans and then later rebelled, mostly because the robotic uprising-cliche is as old and tired as sci-fi itself. Another is the Borg Queen-vibe I get from the "Cylons getting a new body when they die"-idea, hopefully that'll wear off.
As for characters, I really like the new Commander Adama. He looks like a no-nonsense, gruff and military type unlike most scifi captains and you have no doubt he is running the ship. Period. Great casting choice with Olmos.
President Roslyn is a good choice too, she seems sincere but not without a certain "politician" streak. Remains to be seen if she got what it takes to hold her own against Adama. Looks like a source for conflict.
Starbuck, not too sure. As a character she works nicely, and her relationship with Adama and Apollo is obviously important and will develop as the series does. Her relationship with Tigh could be interesting as well. However her tough woman-routine seems forced so far. Overall I'm positive, needs a bit ironing.
Tigh, is interesting (flawed characters always are). He seems like a capable soldier, a good strategist, but not really likable. A man born to be XO, but not CO. He is a man that could stage a military coup against president Roslyn, because he feels it will be more efficient and I have a hunch he will be in command at some point and if this happens his actions will be more than interesting to see. Most likely they will be disastrous to some extent.
Without more filler, the rest of the characters not already mentioned seems good, I particular like cheif Tyrol and Boomer (like I said, too bad she's a Cylon).
So overall looks like a good show. If the episodes live up to the pilot, I expect to follow this show for a long time. Anyone who'll recommend bying the DVD's rather than wait for the episodes to air?
