I'm a big huge fan of Jim Carrey and I love his movies which one of those are the best that he made. It's hard for me to chose but I love Bruce Almighty, Ac Ventura, and Liar Liar. I just vote Bruce Almighty.

Best Jim Carrey Movie? Are there any?  :evillaugh:

Nah, just kidding. The Truman Show was a good one.

Not to mention "The Man in the Moon". I would have voted for that one, but you forgot to put this one into the poll...  :nono:

Man On The Moon, funny, moving, and a career-best performance by Carrey as Andy Kaufman.

Amazing.

Man on the Moon was one of the few films that made me wish I were dead.  I voted for The Truman Show.

I'll go with Ace Ventura, I prefer the second one though. The Mask is also really clool, and dumb and dumber is stupidly funny too, but it can be annoying to watch at times. I haven't seen The Truman Show, or Bruce Almighty, but I'll definately have to see them one day  :)

There are many good ones. Me, myself & Irene and Dumb and Dumber are probably my favorites, but I am voting for Cable Guy.  I honestly think it is great and people tend to trash it without really giving it a chance.

Yeah Man on the Moon is very good. Carrey is excellent. I also really love The Truman Show, is surpassed my expectations by miles, it's a truely great film!
On the comedy side, I'm going to go for The Mask (the 90's answer to Who Framed Roger Rabbit), it's funny, strange, and actually gets better with age. I saw Bruce Almightly the other day, and enjoyed it alot. I think this is Carrey's funniest film (closely followed by Liar Liar, "the pen is r-r-r-r-reee....reeeeee. The pen is blue! The pen is blue" )

Oh, and although it failed at the box office, nobody has mentioned Frank (The Shawshank Redemption) Darabont's 'The Majestic'. I have to admit I haven't actually seen it yet, but I'll get round to it.

Bruce Almighty -even the previews made me want to kill myself
Dumb and Dumber -made me embarrassed to have eyes
Ace Ventura 1 and 2 -i didn't think football could suck any more than it already did
Batman Returns -"unitard"
The Truman Show -ok this was pretty good
The Mask -introduced the world to the terror that is Cameron Diaz, actress
Liar Liar -why do they show this movie on tv all.the.time?
The Grinch -jim carrey AND molly shannon? ::kills self::

Majestic doesnt count it wasnt really  comedy. Carrey just seems to make formula films these days. Where eveyone feels good and its all good at the end.

I wouldn't really class The Truman Show as a comedy either. Sure, it had a few funny moments - but it was more a drama than anything. Also, I haven't seen The Majestic, Man On The Moon, Bruce Almighty or The Grinch yet. Anyway, it's a tough choice - although Carrey can be particularly annoying at times, his movies are often very funny. Even so - The Truman Show gets my vote (for different reasons, obviously).

MAn on the moon is great, majestic isnt a comedy, although it is good. I havnt seen the grinch and dont intend to and bruce almighty is just the same as Liar, Liar. They are both pretty good, but i wish Carrey would try something new.

Ace Ventura 6

Out of all of those I chose The Truman Show but I don't think it was Carrey that made it a good film, it was just a good story. So out of the other films he's done its Dumb and Dumber.

I haven't seen The Majestic yet cos I don't know what it's all about. Another Moive I saw with Carrey in is "Earth Girls Are Easy" in where Jim plays one of the Allens also starring Geena Davis and Jeff Goldblum.

There's also "Once Bitten" a crappy Teen-Vampire comedy (I think it was pre-In Living Color).

Seeing as I can;t vote for MOTM, I'm gonna go for The Cable Guy.

A) The Truman Show wasn't a comedy either. Why does it count yet The Majestic doesn't?  (And while it was funny, Man on the Moon was technically a drama.)
B) You also forgot Jim lyp-synching "Welcome to the Jungle" in The Dead Pool (the last Dirty Harry movie) and there's a film of his callled "Rubberface" that I haven't seen.

Heh, I saw the ending to Once Bitten during a free HBO weekend, a long time ago. Man, that was crappy.

Why is everyone arguing about whether movies are comedies or not? The topic doesn't say anything about comedy, it's just the overall best Jim Carrey movie.

Also, I saw Me Myself & Irene on tv a while back. The writers should have given that script a few more drafts. I felt like it had some good elements, but it never really worked itself into being a good movie.

Yep, Carrey plays a doomed rock star in "The Dead Pool" - Slash from Guns 'N' Roses was in his "video".

@Fishy:  Man, the rest of "Once Bitten" was crappy.  You missed nothing.

MY favorite Jim Carrey movies:
3. Dumb and Dumber-It helps me get in touch with my immature side.
2. The Truman Show-Good idea, acting, and writing but the story of a man who's whole life is ,unknown to him, caught on film may hit too close to home for people who realize that if reality television keeps going the way it's going this probably happen.
1. Man on the Moon-All around good movie. One of my favorite movies.

I had to go with The Truman Show, since it does happen to be one of my favourite films. There are many factors beside Jim Carrey that make it good, like the music, the story and so forth, but I still think he's very good in it. Perfect for when Truman begins to go insane of course, but when he's just supposed to be normal, or is going through various emotions, Jim does it convincingly.  :)

I don't think it's a comedy though, more of a light hearted drama.

I really think Liar Liar is BY FAR Jim Carrey's best movie! I guess I am alone in this thought. Weep.

Edit: And Batman Forever is one of my favorite movies EVER--but because of Val Kilmer, not Jim Carey   :D
