I think the Truman Show was his best movie. The best one I've seen anyhow. That doesn't mean it's the funniest one though. That prize might go to the Ace Ventura films. Or Dumb and Dumber.
I can understand Carrey's not wanting to be judged entirely by his early work... He made a complete ass of himself, and people ate it up. If he's got an ego, he'll want to be known as more than "that guy who acted like a retard in those stupid comedies".

Last night I watched The Cable Guy on sky and I really enjoyed watching it all over again. I haven’t seen that movie for a long time and it was great that it still make me laugh on some parts. My favourite parts from the movie are: Jim playing Basketball with the others The whole Medieval Times fighting scene Jim’s karaoke scene Porno password. So do you guys have a fave scene from any Jim movies? ----------------

Ace Ventura, that's a classic . But then I grew out of that kinda comedy - Liar, Liar was fun though, even if I can only remember the 'elevator scene' .

Well I found this in Steve Carell's profile on imdb.com a minute ago. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0413099/ Yes I know, you can't trust imdb 100% but most of the time they are right. Anyway the reason why I'm bringing this is up is to discuss sequels to JC movies that don't have him in it. Son of the Mask for example, according to imdb is #40 on the worst movie list. That is really disappointing to me because I thought it was one of the better movies I had seen in a while. NO it did not have Jim Carrey in it, NO it did not need to have a sequel, and YES the CGI effects with the baby were bad, BUT it was a good movie on it's own. I respect Jamie Kennedy for trying to fill in Jim Carrey's shoes for the movie. But he is funny in his own way. That's what made him original. No one can replace Jim, it's not to be done. Now ever since I saw Bruce Almighty, I was like what? 10? Yeah cause my birthday wasn't till December. And when I saw it I starting thinking, if they made a sequel what would it be about? I came up with a weird-ass concept of Bruce and Grace having a daughter (at least 10) who got God's powers or something like that. I knew my idea wasn't great and it wasn't gonna happen but still. I couldn't help but think if it was possible to do this. The reason why I'm not sure about this "supposively gonna happen" movie, is because Evan basically got what he wanted at the end of the movie. He got his job back, befriended Bruce sort of, and lived happily ever after. Why would he need God's powers? I know Steve Carell is a funny guy, he really is, but I need a good reason for why this would be acceptable and possible. I don't know about you guys but that's what I'm thinking.

I've seen almost every Jim Carrey except Man on the Moon and Cable Guy, yes I saw The Grinch, not a good movie at all. I voted Ace Ventura because I love that kind of comedy but of the two it has to be the first one The Truman Show was great though. Jim as The Riddler in Batman Forever was good in my opinion and the Mask was classic sillyness of the best kind. Oh, and... I think you get the idea Jim's just one of my favourite actors

...Wow, anybody can get a fan club these days. Why don't I have one...
Evan Almighty and SotM are both Hollywood wanting to bank on the sucess of Jim Carrey and the sucess of other comedians.
