I remember in new year 2000 when my dad went out dressed as luke, I asked him to make sure he kept the lightsaber for me... He lost it, was a dam shame. Also about a week ago had the star wars marathon with some friends, started at 1pm, finished at 2am, was awesome, and yes I had some crazy dreams that night of being some awesome jedi hero.

You know what?  I like Return of the Jedi.  I like it more than a New Hope.  Go ahead and hate if you must, my man Lando has a message for you.

+1 . Jedi is my fav movie of the entire saga if i should pic one, i think Empire is the best , because is the best (not trying to look intelectual here) and Jedi is the one i would pick if had to choose only one.. except for those scumy stupid impossible cheating pestilent politheist canibal hatefull mistake of nature gummy bear wannabe Ewoks..
Can anyone tell me how in the name of Batman can a Ewok knock out or kill an armoured imperial soldier with a stone throw by himself? or how can a shitty wood arrow pierce an armour made to wistand to certain level blasters? how can 2 frakin damn logs crush an armoured AT-ST with plating made to wistand blasters and missiles? Do you know what happens if you try to crush a M1 tank with 2 logs? thats right.. nothing.. so i expect an armoured vehicle from an inmensely advanced civilization to behave just as good..

I think i readed somewhere that ROTJ finale was going to be placed on Kashiick (or whatever name Lucas had for the Wookie homeworld) and the final fight would had been Wookies fighting against the imperial soldiers.. but for some reason, budget maybe (tought it doesnt make much sense) they decided to split the Wookies in Half and call the Ewoks (i smell Marketting toy move by Lucas)..

I actually don't mind the Ewoks too much.  It wasn't like they were a planet of Jar-Jars.  Besides, Star Wars has a total thing for tiny characters that actually kick ass like Yoda.

I actually think that the weakest aspect of Jedi is the handling of Leia and Luke talking about going to see Vader along with the resolution of the love triangle with the wierd and 'How the fuck is Harrison Ford supposed to emote to this shitty line' "He's my brother!"

Well, the epic Vader turncoat along with the stunning Endor Battle (In my mind second only to Hoth in the Star Wars cannon) and the Jaba slaughter was more than enough to make up for it.

But Yoda didn't actually kick any ass in the proper films. He lifted an X-Wing, sat on Luke's back, prepared a meal and died in bed.

Back then movies didn't explain everything at us.  We had the imagination to understand just how bad-ass Yoda was back then.... He didn't have to prove anything, he could lift an X-Wing with his dick, sit on some kid's back for the fuck of it, cook himself food, and go to sleep while dying like a bad-ass.  AND WE ALL KNEW IT.  SHIT FUCK YEAH!!!!

Exactly..  even by the little we saw we knew we were before a badass jedi , also his lines left it quite clear

"Judge by me size do you? And you shouldnt"

I never have enought of the battle of endor and its one of those things i wouldnt mind seeing remastered and upgraded. It was suposed to be the biggest space battle in centuries and the final (acording to Lucas) showdown between the Empire and the Alliance.. the only time we see Imperator star destroyers engaging calamary cruisers.. also the only single time we see a Star Destroyer blow out

The in ep3 we are shown another battle bigger and with more ships in close range.. only honorable way out is make Endor the bigest of the bigest space battles :D

I'd say that Yoda was actually rather averse to kicking ass. Luke says he's looking for a great warrior, what does Yoda reply?

"Wars not make one great."

Also "A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defence, never for attack."

Fun as seeing Yoda bouncing around like a green gerbil on crack was, those fight scenes in eps 2 and 3 went a long way to ruining the character.

Yes.. Eps 5 and 6 stablish that Yoda was a badass Jedi , probably one of the most powerfull Jedi ever.. but showed also how he was wise and while powerfull choosed to use wisedom and other aproachs rather than force..

Ep 2 and 3 showing him fighting in so ludicrous manner ruined it...  i renember clearly that in Ep.II the people at the theather reaction was laught , not amazement..  Ep 3 was a bit better as Palpatine and Yoda first fight using the force , rather that going to boucing like a pinball

I think the Ewoks could destroy and take on the imperial army. If you remember, "in a factual film I saw" humans were breething fire, and robots were trying to destroy him with lasers, but in the end got killed by a pointy stick. Exactly what happened to the imperial army.

Interesting.  I also thought that scene detracted from the character, but the theater audience went wild with applause and cheers, very much like the end of T1 when the Sarah character activated the press and crushed the Terminator.  Maybe it's a cultural thing?  I saw it in the US Northwest.

Lol, thats about all the "Endor Hollocaus" thing...  explanation as how Endor didnt got affected came in Expanded universe stating that the explosion of the reactor created a micro-blackhole that swallowed most debree and the Alliance fleet screened the moon and cleaned debree..

Its lame i know..

Maybe there were more fans on that theather... because i didnt laughted at all.. it was a much anticipated and waited moment to see Yoda finalyl show how he fights.. but as i said.. in all 3 times i saw Ep2 in theathers most of the room laughted..

anyway.. the original cristmas 1976 trailer:

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gvqpFbRKtQ

Its quite interesting.. i know the video description says 1977 but i renember some documental about StarWars or DVD extras showed it as being aired in 1876 due to Fox pressures (StarWars Ep4 history was a quite troubled one during production) so they released a trailer when the OST and most visual and sound FX where not complete.. (you can ear the rifles blanks shots instead of the typical blaster sound)

Me and my mum just had a nice "back to the old days" moment by watching the end of ROTJ together.

At the very very end though (as I was expecting) she was all "I don't remember this stuff, and who's the guy on the left? It should be Darth Vader, the little guy and Alec Guiness." I tried to explain and she said:

"That's a load of old crap."

God bless my mum.

Also, did you guys know that that Red Letter Media that some of you keep going on about a lot is based here in Milwaukee.  Well it apparently is.  I have been wanting to point that out for a long time, there, now I can sleep better.

Oh.. Okay?  Neet.  I replied further via a brief PM.
I love going on boats.

The way I was first alerted to Red Letter Media being here was I recognized some of the areas around Farwell and Brady streets (on the East Side) in some video Svip I think linked a good while ago.

Also near there is a street called Downer.

I actually read that rebuttal (well, maybe half of it) and he does make a few fair points. But that's because I think TPM is considerably more defensible than the other two prequels.

Why they keep making games of the prequels or even old republic?

We dont want to explore the republic as it was millenia ago!!

We want to join the rebellion or the Empire, we want thar civil war or just roam in between those two powers as spacers flying among imperial destroyers or calamary cruisers , TIE Fighters and X-wings in a gigantic galaxy.. why they keep going backwards? why!

Because they've already covered forwards in the books. People new to the franchise would consider the games to be canon above the books (which could be true depending on what LucasArts says), but a game can screw up with canon and confuse older fans.

With the Old Republic, it is territory that hasn't been covered in detail yet. I'm happy that they're going into the Old Republic rather than the prequels because there's more room for interesting stories back there.

However, I agree with you, Javier. I'd like to see some more Civil War and New Republic games.

On the reviews, I liked his Revenge of the Sith one. He brings up some interesting plot errors and directing idiot moments, like how they only sit and, or stop walking to stand and, talk ever.

The ROTS review is the best of the lot, mainly because, like you say, he goes for some real fundamental film making stuff.

I still think the most damning evidence in his reviews was in TPM when he has people attempt describe the characters without referring to their occupations or what they do in the movie.
