There was a quiz-game at school yesterday, what was the name of Harrison Ford's character in Star Wars.... and the competitors truly didn't know....

Gah, I'm starting to wonder if Clone Wars is worth watching, Jedi or not I just want to punch Asohka in the face.

I've gotten used to it and can just kind of tune her out now. But I hear what you're saying.

Last night's episode was really good--probably my favorite so far, even though it did have Ahsoka survive when she most certainly should have been killed. It was the conclusion of a two-parter where Artoo gets kidnapped. The first episode was kind of sucky, but the conclusion was great. I would recommend watching that one and also the all-clones episode(no Ahsoka, as far as I can remember).

If you want, I can review each week's episode and give it an Ahsoka factor to let you know exactly how annoying she is in that particular episode.

The oldest boy likes the Clone Wars cartoon, but won't watch the live action movies. Kids are crazy. I will try to watch them, and he might turn his head for a few seconds if there's an action sequence. But he quickly loses interest and starts doing something else.

Oddly enough, he loves Indiana Jones. Watches the movies regularly, buys a bajillion Indiana Jones lego toys, and even dressed up as him for halloween.  It doesn't make any sense to me. Star Wars and Indiana Jones are very similar, but one has colorful aliens/planets and the other has boring desert-ey locations. You'd think that a hyperactive kid would want to watch the spaceships and stuff, but no. He goes with nazis in the desert.

Wait until he is nine or ten Fishy, that is when I got into it all those years ago when my old man took me to see the movies re-released into the cinemas.

Speaking of the movies, I'm considering finally buying the Clones and Phantom Menace at last. I really must complete my collection. And as soon as December hits, Holiday Special time once more!

I've been watching the new series a little bit. So far, aside from the Clone troopers episode, it's mostly General Grievous and Anakin taking it turns in escaping from each other just in the nick of time. WHAT TENSION.

The clone troopers segment was entertaining, though, and sometimes the animation looks really eyecatching!

EDIT: Proposed Clone Wars drinking game: Take a shot every time Grievous says "I will deal with the Jedi myself."

EDIT 2: Take another shot if he actually does. :)

Another success for Robot Chicken! :laff:

It's hard to pick a favourite moment, but IG-88's basketball daydream is at the top so far.

That bit when Leia shoots the Stormtrooper is exactly what I was thinking every time I see that scene. I mean, come on! Have a heart!

Is Robot Chicken always this good? Or only when they are making fun of Star Wars?

Robot Chicken is awesome 85% of the time, compared to Family Guys 15% of the time. I am hoping they might rip into the EU in the next one if they think enough Star Wars fans would get it.

I keep hoping they might even make fun of a certain Holiday Special.

I was actually really looking forward to this one. It was written by the writer/director of Troops(the old Cops parody from way back in the day) and the premise sounded like it could be cute.

Unfortunately, the end result is nicht so gut. Nothing really stood out to me as being funny, and I've never been a fan of Padme. The only positives for this episode is the whole Rodia aspect. It was cool seeing their home world. And Nute Gunray is my favorite prequel character, so it's cool to see him too.

Jar Jar works better in cartoon form than in a live action Star Wars movie, but I would still have to rate this one as the worst episode ever.

Nurdbot: I wouldn't say that. Last night's episode was really good. Then again, if you are the type who flat out hates the prequels then maybe a cartoon based on the prequels isn't the show for you.

Here are my brief reviews, in case you want to skip the meh episodes and just check out the good ones.

movie/pilot - Disappointing. It helps if you consider it as a TV pilot, rather than a real "movie". It was made from the get-go as a television project, and was put in theaters solely as a shameless money-making ploy. As a TV pilot, there's some impressive stuff here and there...but it still has a lot of boring and/or annoying scenes.

Ambush (The Yoda episode) - Excellent. Not much of a story(Yoda fights droids...and that's it), but it is still a fun intro episode.

Malevolence trilogy - Part one is great.  Tense and exciting. Part two is slightly boring, but has a cool space battle at the end--better space action than found in any of the prequel movies. Part three is just kind of ridiculous--too much droid humor, convoluted story, too-convenient of an ending.

Overall, I like this trilogy of episodes better than the trilogy of episodes used to make the pilot/movie. It could have used a stronger ending, though.

Rookies - The all-clones episode. Very good. Surprisingly adult for a Cartoon Network show. No kid characters, no annoying Ahsoka, not a whole lot of goofy humor. Just a group of clones trying to make it.

Downfall of a Droid / Duel of the Droids - This is a two-parter about R2-D2 getting kidnapped. Part one is mediocre, but part two is probably my favorite episode so far. I would recommend skipping part one--the story is still easy enough to follow.

The climax of part 2 is honestly hilarious. And the hilariousness doesn't detract from the excitement either. And the setting/animation is just beautiful. It's just a great ending. Maybe I am crazy. Give this one a shot.

Bombad Jedi - The Jar Jar episode. Yeah. Didn't like this one too much.

Cloak of Darkness - Last night's episode, written by Paul Dini. Another "best episode" contender, but is brought down by Ahsoka's annoyingness.

There is some decent lightsaber dueling in this episode. The animation has really improved--I remember hating the lightsaber action in the pilot movie because the animation was so stiff. That dirty-chinned jedi woman is a suprisingly cool character.

Nute Gunray is featured pretty heavily in this episode, and they really nailed his character. I love Nute Gunray.

Overall, I am really liking the show so far. But it seems like after every episode, I always think to myself "wow! That was great! ...but man, imagine how much greater it would be if it didn't have Ahsoka." They really have to start finding a way to keep her under control.

I'm just hoping the actual TV series won't suck.

Im happy tought that this 3D series follows more "StarWars" and the UE MORE than Lucas and his movies himself..

i mean.. for starters the Y-Wings.. (wich have been identified as BTL-B models.. the Y-Wing we saw on movies is the BTL-S4 and its 2 seater version the BTL-S3, the BTL-B its the predesor of the BTL-S3 i suposse with the hull plating on and a rear turret..
then Anakin/Alosha ship wich heavy resembles an ATR Assault Transport (without the wings of course) wich is a popular UE ship in the space sims..

Ion Canons: At last.. after being featured one time in the old trilogy we see the ion canons in action again and their strategic value (this being a hyper-canon more powerfull than the Hoth one wich was able to dissable a ISD with one or 2 shots..) of dissabling ships to destroy them or whatever ou want to do with them

Yoda: Only saw one ep of him , the Ambush one and it was the Yoda most like the one in the old trilogy.. even the giggle while ploting strategy against the droid army with his limited clone squad.. also nice to see the Republic diplomatic cruiser

Heh, I just realised the Mandalorians are the Celts of the Star Wars universe. Neat. Oh, and Legacy Of The Force? More like, Depression of The Force. You'd think getting a bunch of Licenced Lucas book writers together to pool ideas for a series would be a great idea in theory but instead you'd get them killing off hundreds of minor EU characters and using the same old tired corrupt Jedi goes Sith and kills billions plot.

Thank feck for Libraries. I wouldn't pay for this dreck.
