apparently, the Lost people take longer than a week to make one episode, therefore they can't have a new episode every week. Also they hate me.

Hey, why don't they build another raft? Or an airplane?

And they're not Cuban.  Besides, what with the ruffian, psychic child abducting IoM Coast Guard and the resident population of Dharma sharks, the idea of rafting might leave a bad taste in their mouthes.

It worked for Bender...

me and my friend had an arguement on the bus about which was better, lost or The OC(my 2nd favorite show besides Futurama, its got the same guy doing the music, Chris Tyng)
it almost got bloody
then we decided how gay it must have sounded, 2 guys arguing over these 2, not very manly, shows

Anyone who likes the OC that much should have his or her head krazy glued up his or her sphincter just so there's no confusion for strangers who might not know any better.

Reminds me of that time I had an argument with my sister over which was better - pillows or rocks. I mean, sure, she had a good case with arguing that pillows are comfier to sleep on, but I ask you, can you build a house out of pillows? Of course not, that'd be ridiculous. So, rocks win every time.

Although, I guess it doesn't help that I get the two confused... Well, at least, I did during the fateful pillow fight of 1996.

I don't have a sister anymore.

Clearly because not enough of the cast members are pretending to be teenagers.

Teenagers suck anyway. They always start to grow out of their roles, which is worse than the lead actress getting pregnant...

Also, OC sucks big time.

That's all.  :)

Depends what you make out of it.

Thus, it's something different compared to previous "stranded on an island" shows.

Crap bag, you are so right.  I mean, Id MUCH rather watch the OC.  Its so totally new, theres never been a teen drama about random stuff happening in their lives involving drugs and sex and being rich and other problems that totally relate to me!

Pillows and rocks, people. There's no way to be objective when dealing with something so ridiculous as "which show is 'better'". There's no scale to judge such a thing on, all preferences are obviously based upon personal taste, and I really don't know why i'm even trying here.

Ah, what joy I got from reading this page. Sammy, Tears in my eyes. Tears in my eyes. At least you didn't get it the other way round, thats what happened to me in the great rock fight of '03. Needless to say, my sister now no longer has a brother.

These goddamn breaks are killing me, but I never got a chance to see that Locke orange scene before in the pilot rerun.. freakin' hilarious!

ooh, zing!

I shall not further comment except that The OC is much less original than Lost, if that's the angle you're going for...that is all.

I never did get why Locke had that orange in his mouth. What was the point of that? Humor-wise, it was funny, but was that the only point of that happening?

It's a reference to the 1972 film The Godfather. As the title character has grown old and retired, he amuses his grandson by doing that same trick. I suppose it's just something that's amusing.

Or its a connection to Marlon Brando, who played Colonel Kurtz in Apocalypse Now, which you could say Locke is based on.

I read that some forgotten Irish police novel that was seen in Lost sold more in three weeks than it did in the years before.

i heard once that the orange was to represent locke as the 'clown' along with his facial scars and such.. perhaps. but the other remarks here sound more accurate.  at any rate, it's quite amusing.

the orange is a symbol for the universe. It's round and if it gets in your eye, it hurts. Just like the universe.

Locke is manipulating the orange for his own amusement, just like he's jerking around with the other survivors on the island. As a result, people will get hurt -- like Boone who got dead because he got some mascara in his eye and didn't see that he was falling off a cliff in an airplane.

Isn't Jif a brand of peanut butter?

And they probably clean it with those amazing chemicals that spokespeople are always shouting about on late-night infomercials.

See how this smoke monster is full of dirt, wood chips, and pilot chunks?  Give it a quick spray of Monsta-Kleen and it'll be reading the minds of Nigerian drug lords-turned priests before your eyes in no time!

Plus, call within the next 108 minutes and receive this patented Other-Scrubber!  Nothing cleans the twigs and brambles out of several year's worth of body hair like this space-age combing device!

All this can be yours for the low low price of $29.99 plus shipping and handling!
