I was thinking today:
In Amazonian Women in the Mood, Zap sings:
"... I asked her her name, and in a deep brown voice she said LEELA!"

Deep brown voice? Did i hear that wrong or did i just miss the joke or is Zap just moronic?

"I met her in a club down in North Soho
where you drink champagne and it tastes just like Coca Cola
C-O-L-A Cola.

She walked up to me and she asked me to dance.
I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said, "Lola"
L-O-L-A Lola, lo lo lo Lola"

I read somewhere that it started out as coca-cola, but some stations wouldn't play the song because of its reference to a name brand. So they changed it to good ol' generic cherry cola.

Do any of you realise that the legendary kinks have been violated by allowing a thickie like Zap Brannigan to molest that classic song??

Or are my tastes in music far older than my age. (Under 20, I promise you all).

Welcome to PEEL Total,  big grin

I heard the song Loola the other day.
My bad, it does say dark (deep) brown voice.
Zaps still an idiot.
