A lot has been discussed in the Zoidberg's Age thread.  Anyway, it depends on how you look at it.  If you're saying they grow with the show, which I think is true, then Fry and Leela would be 28. Zoidberg is probably anywhere from late thirties to late forties, Hermes is in his early to mid forties.  Amy is most likely 22 at the start, so now she'd be 25 or something.

If Amy's an intern, wouldn't she be younger than that? Sorry, I don't know about the American college system.

right. amy's still in school. She would probably be in her 2nd or 3rd year and be 19-21.

i don't totally buy that they age during the run of the show. 28 seems a bit old for Fry.

I think they age during the show, but not at the same rate. So it's not necessarily going to be a whole year between their birthdays if their birthdays were shown.  Probably a year and a half to two years between birthdays.

Does that make sense?

Fry was actually 25 at the start of the show in space pilot 3000.  Due to a strange paradox, Fry may seem 25.  However, he was frozen for one thousand years at the age of 25.  Whilst his body did not age, his birth date is still in 1975, so logically he should be over 1000.  Cool paradox, Huh?  What do you guys think?

I think technically he is 1025, but his anatomical age is 25.  However his *physical* age is still 1025 because his body has been around that long.  Nice catch, less than hero.

From Brannigan Begin again...
Leela:  Hurry! I don't want to die at the age of 25!
Bender:  Honey, unless we hit a time warp, you don't have to worry!

Not the exact Bender quote, but you get the idea.

Which probably means Leela is older than 25 as of "Brannigan Begin Again", probably 26 or 27. Making her slightly older than Fry. Making her 28-29 at the end of the show (only 2 Xmas').

Fry will be around 27 now, since he were 25 in SP3K.

Hermes was in the 2980 Olympics, so he has to be over 23 years old. Say he was 18-20 at that time, he'd be 41-43 years old now.

yes, because his son is about 12, while I'm just a bit older than him, and my mom is 43.  meaning Hermes is probably 43.

Amy's working on her thesis (according to her PDA in KGKUAN), so she's probably in grad school by now, which means she's probably around 23.

I don't think they age/get older unless the script calls for it, like in the Simpsons.  Matt Groening even said something along the lines of them not aging since it is a cartoon in one of the S1 commentaries, if I remember correctly.

I think the characters do age. I mean, the years go on, so they must age with the time.

On The Simpsons, the years go on, but the characters stay the same age all the time. Their past changes to match up the new history (eg Bart is born in 1980 in "I Married Marge" but in "Lisa's Sax" he is 5 in 1990.)

As for ages, assuming we are in 3003 now:
Fry: 28/29
Leela: 28/29
Bender: 5/6
Farnsworth: 162/163
Amy: about 23/24
Hermes: In his 40s. I'd say around 44/45.
Dr Zoidberg: Who knows?  :) He could be 4, he could be 212 for all we know. Also, a year on deceapod 10 may not be the same as an Earth year, so Zoidy's age may vary here as well.

(Note: the two ages for each character depend on where abouts in the year we are and when the character's birthdays are).

Yeah, but that's just something written on a crummy fansite, ie probably not cannon.

If Hermes were 25, having a 12-14 year old son would be really disturbing.

And he must have been around 20 years old when he participated in the 2980 Olympics, so I really doubt he is 25 now.

Well, in my school the average parents age for seventh graders is about 42.  It is the majority, but not always true.  In most cases the parents in my school are 25-36 years older than the kids.

also, nowadays parents are older when they have children, according to research and crap and stuff like that.

Not to mention; Hermes is a career driven bureaucrat, just look how excited he is about one lousy promotion (as opposed to warden Vogel, who have remained a grade 135 for 20 years), he probably spend a good part of his youth working 24/7. Plus there's his whole limbo-career to work into the equation too.

But just to compare: I'm 28, my father (who didn't have a workaholic careerstart/olympic sportsman thing going) is 54. One of my friends were 31 before he got his first kid.

Bender(body):4
Professor:153
Leela:28
Amy:25
Zoidberg:35
Hermes:45

I agree with all except Leela.  I would guess Leela is around 31-33 (probably 30 when the show begins).  I would look at Fry as being in between Amy and Leela in age.

Leela has accomplished alot, and has matured.  And the way Bender says "not unless we hit a timewarp" sounds like that 25 isn't even close.  But, remember, a women may always lie about her age.
