If you accept such a treatment, are you still you? Are you you, but, like, you++? Or does the treatment alter you so much that you're somebody else?
Myself, I think you're still you, you just took a cheap way to greatness. The rest of us have to improve ourselves, if we choose to, by long, hard work.
I _think_ that's the moral of Parasites Lost. Fry could have taken the easy route; Leela was still seduced from before. But he wanted to be loved as Fry, not Fry++.
This episode is one of the many I hold out as examples that Fry is much wiser, and more heroic, than we think he is.
More than that, "Parasites Lost" is, IMHO, one of the best (strictly speaking) science fiction episodes of Futurama, and for that matter, of any program, of the last twenty years. How do we humans feel about symbiosis? How do we define ourselves -- purely genetically, or by our interactions with other lifeforms? What are the ethical ramifications if Fry had decided to keep the worms, or Leela to have let them be destroyed?
I have vague feelings, but not any grand answers. That's why I love this episode. PL doesn't present any easy answers -- just the feelings and beliefs of its characters.
And that's great science fiction. "Here's a scientific question. Here's how our characters answer it. Now what would you do?" This is a thread. Here is post concerning the subject matter of this thread. Now what do you think?

From the perspective of a straight male comicbook reader, I say the best incarnation of Fry was hyperspeed Fry in Three Hundred Big Boys. Not only could he move faster than the eye could see, but he was also totally mellow, having broken the caffine barrier into a kind of coffee Nirvana. That was cool.

Anywho, I definitley like flabby Fry better, though not as a couch potato: I loved him in "War is the H-Word" something about a man in uniform... I totally agree! I loved him in that uniform aswell.

Um...sorry? <ingratiating, hesitant grin> I also think he looks kinda cute in the little loincloth in "Pharaoh..." so I guess I prefer a Fry who's soft in the middle over a beefstick-Fry. (Though I, too, did have the same "Ooo!" reaction Leela did when he ripped off his shirt...and I'm not a muscle buff at all, it was just like... whoa. Biological instincts went "ping!" Even for a cartoon... )

Dave B, we females never get "hot" cartoon characters to lust over. lol... it's much easier to compile a list of female cartoon characters that are hot/crush-worthy.
KurtPikachu2001, I don't think fry is chunky so much as he just has really really bad posture. It's a known fact that you can make yourself look 10 pounds less just by standing properly. hunched posture is generally a sign of insecurity also.

Concerning Fry and tuxes: for me, it really depends on which one he's wearing. That one from AFtR, for instance, was just ghastly. Very Fry, but very... "bleagh." I'm a fan of this look, too: @ Dave B: slurm_addict already covered it, but I have to add that in this show, our pickings are pretty slim. We're taking what we can get here....

Oooo baby yes. I forgot about that. I've always adored the "blazer over turtleneck" look. And brown is such a great color for Fry. [Shiny goes digging for some Man from UNCLE pics... Illya Kuryakin + (turtleneck x blazer) = SWOOOON... ]

Whenever I see a man wearing a pale-blue tuxedo, I think he belongs in a Moose-lodge playing a polka on his accordion for some doofus' wedding reception...
