I had never owned a dog back in 2002 when Jurassic Bark first aired, but it still crushed my heart into little pieces.
It remains my favorite episode. Though having a dog now, I can't watch it without being near him so I can hug him and sob profusely for the following hour.
Yeah, I do the same with my cat if she's around when that ep airs. As Anna says, it's lost a bit of its initial impact for me. The Sting, on the other hand, still chokes me up good...

Am I the only person who has never even got the slightest bit upset at "The Sting"? I found the end of BBS (when Lars is revealed to be Fry) to be way more touching.

I like JB ,even if I didn't have a dog (I'm a cat person and I lost mine when I was little) I think it's sad and all ,but I can't stand when people ONLY talks about that episode, that's why even if is really well written I don't think that is the greatest thing ever. In change, "The Luck of the Fryirish" makes me cry like a baby everytime I see it and I don't have siblings, but yeah I feel sad for Fry. And other episodes that I really like personally are: Neutopia (I don't care if 90% of the people hates it,it's pretty cool),Zapp Dingbat (Classic Futurama, imo),Brannigan Begin Again (I can see it 1000 times and I never get tired ) and Insane in Mainframe (was my first Futurama episode,so yeah has a special spot in my heart). I know,I have weird tastes.

I think that other than UrL, not too many people will give you a hard time about liking even Neutopia.
Neutopia's only real failings for me are the weak and contrived jokes based on gender stereotyping, and the reliance on an archaic, outdated trope ("battle of the sexes").
Many people overlook these failings entirely, and simply enjoy the episode. There are a few episodes like this, that have a single minor flaw which ruins it for a few people (eg: UrL and Neutopia, Inquisitor Hein and Mobius Dick. Me and The Six Million Dollar Mon). But overall, the fandom won't give you a hard time in general about liking episodes in particular.
Unless maybe it's the Holiday Spectacular, The Cryonic Woman, Yo Leela Leela, or one of the handful with a really heavy-handed or hamfisted "message". Then you might run into more than one person disagreeing with you at once.
I agree somewhat about JB, being a fellow cat person - TLoTF resonates with me at least as much, and episodes like Time Keeps On Skipping have a deeper emotional core (IMO), so it's kind of odd that this is the episode that the entire universe has agreed upon as the most moving.
Still, it's at least somewhat awesome. I won't say it's not one of the greats.

so it's kind of odd that this is the episode that the entire universe has agreed upon as the most moving.
I think it's the long montage at the end with a dog waiting to it's owner. It's showing Seymor getting old lonely and music is affective and intense. And the very end with him closing eyes is suddle and intriguing. But Lethal Inspection is better imo, because it's overall excellent and so funny episode. I might even say it's one of my favorite episodes, but not quite.

Even if I like Neutopia a lot, I can agree when someone says that could be better (they *can you blame the writters or CC because the promos* sell you as a gender bender episode and then they have you waiting for that part) and has troubles with characterizations then ,yes I can say that is bit dissapointing.
Anyways was a good experiment,at least they tried something different talking about character designs and for someone who isn't a huge Futurama can be an enjoyable episode, isn't trash either, was just a wasted opportunity.
By the way,I understand when you have an episode that you can't stand even if you try to re-watch the episode, I have the same problem with Butterjunk Effect.Doesn't matter how many time I see it , I still thinking that it's bad and the Butterfly!Fry is the stupidiest thing ever and that wasn't and ending, but again is just my opinion.
Also I don't like Bender's Game (the humor there isn't my style ) but at least I admit that Roberto is the only reason of why I would see it.
And weird I have no problems with YLL, CW or Holiday Spectacular, I know these aren't perfect episodes but if an afternoon after a long day of school I'm tired and bored well, I can easily sit and see these if are on TV.
And I totally agree with Quantum Neutrino Field about JB, music is a really important element in Futurama, and is really well used in that episode.

I'm so glad someone else loves that episode. It's definitely not in my top ten but it is one of the personal favorites of the new run.
That's a good one.
