Fuck me, Willster, way to settle that Scruffy discussion we already finished half a page ago, using a blatantly obvious observation that should have gone without saying. See I thought you'd just latched onto me due to a misguided sense of vigilantism, but it's becoming apparent that you're really just an arsehole who'll rag on anybody for any reason. Stating the obvious ooohhh! What, have you only just discovered the Internet for the first time in your life or something? You are a complete and utter toss.

I hadn't mentioned this yet on my blog, but I thought I'd give you guys a heads-up that Katey Sagal did a guest column in the most recent print issue of TV Guide. She doesn't mention Futurama at all though, it's more of a plug for the new season of Sons of Anarchy. Also, there appears to be some discrepancy on the SRP for the complete collection box set. Movieweb also reported that the SRP was $170, but the official press release TVShowsonDVD.com published 8.28 lists the SRP at $200 for *both* the US and Canada. I contacted Gord and he said that he's "spent the morning" forwarding questions to FOX related to the press release and that he'd try to get the SRP verified and post an update on their reply. And finally, if you guys haven't seen this already, I got an e-mail in reply from Cohen and Groening by way of Scott Muller Casting. It's a hoot to read: http://voiceactors.wordpress.com/2009/07/17/fox-attempting-to-recast-futurama/(And yes, I realize the URL is dated with mention of the recasting, but I can't change it now because too many sites link to that page.)

We've already seen the letter, a couple pages back, but this last page has been mostly spam Well, I did mention above "if you haven't seen this already..." As for general Futurama news bits -- if it's not specifically voice actor-related, I tend to pass on it since I have a niche blog. The news I'm waiting on is the guest voices for the new season, which Groening and Cohen have been rather tight-lipped about to date. And I got another reply from Gord @ TVShowsonDVD -- he says he's pretty sure the US $200 SRP is a typo on the press release, but that he'll let me know either way when he gets an update from FOX.

I find it interesting how we - and myself included - ignored the following article completely, despite the fact that it actually has some new information: http://www.newsday.com/entertainment/tv/futurama-finds-a-new-future-on-comedy-central-1.1402526 I quote DXC: Like the "42" in Douglas Adams' "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," the meaning of "26" is open to interpretation. "It will be up to 26," specifies executive producer David X. Cohen, who, with Groening, is credited as "developer" of the series. "I can't guarantee it will be 26," he says by phone, en route to the L.A. studio where the cast is recording the second new episode. "But I think there's a pretty good chance it'll be exactly 26. Fox has been a little bit cagey about it, even internally.
"But nobody's too concerned," he adds cheerily. "We're plunging ahead." And... In addition to recording these two episodes, "There are six scripts currently in the works, ranging in scale from 'it's a crazy idea that someone's grandmother thought of' to 'it's all on paper.' Without giving away too much, I'll say the first episode is tentatively titled 'Rebirth' - and in a surprisingly literal fashion, as things turn out." Of course, the Infosphere has the information: Season 6#Content and " Rebirth".

Fixed by Seattle "Punctuation Nazi" John01... That's not punctuation, that's grammar! Also, it seems this topic is nearing its 20th page. I can't believe we must figure out a better title than something that includes "Hawking".

I think you should put that under a spoiler wind, since we're not in the spoiler topic. Personally I'm not bothered at all, but I know some people can get nasty when they involuntarily stumble upon them in spoiler-free areas.

How could it? David said in the panel itself that he pushed for a resolution to ITWGY's events, and that they would do so in the first episode. On the thing that most people fear resetting (it involves that redheaded guy and that kung-fu chick (joke responses are go!)), the panel also revealed that it would continue and even be the focus of one confirmed plot line. We know The Professor and Fry go into their time-skipping journey because Fry won't be able to wait the 10 minutes for his date with Leela. I'm not worried. Maybe I'm giving the writers too much credit, buy I have confidence that they've gotten the hint that enough is enough.

For new thread title, I think we should keep with the style of the current but not necessarily the reference. Here are my suggestions: "By Nimoy's ears! Futurama is still back!" "By Erdős' number! Futurama is still back!"
"Sweet something of… of someplace. Futurama's back again?"
