What's your other source? Sorry, I'm not at liberty to say. I've been reporting on animation and voice actors since 1999 and sometimes sources decline to be named or directly quoted for whatever reason, and if I didn't honor their wishes I'd lose access to my sources. Let's just say it's someone "close to the cast" for now.
Not that I want to sound skeptical, but... Bollocks. You've not come forth with any information that's not from Facebook or other websites. Until you offer convincing evidence you've a source that's "close to the cast" (or even that you're some kind of reporter) I'm calling bullshit on your claims. As far as I'm concerned, you're another nobody who signed up to PEEL to make people think you've got some kind of importance. If you'd been "reporting on animation and voice actors" since 1999, howcome we've never seen you around here before? Huh? Being a part of PEEL and following the fortunes of Futurama has taught most of us to be wary of statements that have no backup. Folks, I'd disregard anything this guy says until it's confirmed by some mainstream source - which is probably where he gets his information from anyways.

Unfortunately, tnuk, you're a jerk. I got in touch with the author Voice Actors in the News ( http://voiceactors.wordpress.com/) via e-mail, I talked about the good people at PEEL, and he said he would indeed intend to join the forums to provide more information upfront. What he says is credible and I can stand in for them. Folks, I'd disregard anything totalnerduk says until he starts not being an idiot - which is probably what he is anyway.

I'll cheerfully admit that in this case I was wrong, but I'm sick and tired of people saying "I know x 'cause I know person y, but you'll just have to trust me on that, and suck up to me if you want to know anything else. Which it seemed like that guy was doing. I was wrong. Happy to be wrong in this case. But I don't think it was idiotic to maintain a degree of skepticism. As for being a jerk, I've never claimed not to be. But people disregarding anything I say is probably not advisable. I'm usually a voice of sanity and reason.

I was only harsh on you because you were harsh on him. I wasn't objecting your scepticism, just your "rebuttal".
Whilst I cheerfully apologise to Voiceroy, I'm still quite annoyed with you. If you hadn't actually known who he was, you'd probably have been posting in the same vein as me.
At least I would attempt at research. The mere fact that Voiceroy in the two posts he posted thanked me should be any indication. Now secondly, a simple Google search would have gotten you this. The second result is of particular interest, as you can see you are now presented a full name of a person, which now means you should continue to google this particular name. At which, you discover certain clues, such as the open letter to Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, which you might recall I already did tell you about. In short, there is enough clues out there to consult you before opening your mouth. But I am still willing to take it back calling you an idiot, because deep down, I do not believe you are one. I was just slightly offended by your post.

I'm lazy. Takes quite a bit to pique my curiosity to the point where I'm willing to do my own legwork. I expect people to provide me with information when I ask for it, because I'm self-absorbed and arrogant enough to think that they have literally nothing in their schedule that could be more important than answering my query. In tnuk's defense, I can understand the skepticism.
Thanks, Gorky. I think we're all friends again though. The spat has passed. If you're too busy furthering your education to watch the new episodes, I'm sure that there are many people here who will be willing to synopsise them for you. There's always the option of waiting for the DVDs as well. Not that either of those will be a comfort to you. I'm going to shut up for a while now.

Well, the press-release said mid-2010, which I interpret as the summer, so I'm still holding out hope that I'll be able to see the new episodes as they premiere. And, actually, airing the show in the summer might garner it some huge ratings (especially if Fox chooses to broadcast it, because the episodes would most likely be ensured a good time-slot on Sunday night with reruns of other animated fare). And it would still probably be prudent for CC to air it in the summer, simply because the competition would only really be coming from reality shows on network TV, and a few cable-originals. Not that I think the show would be unable to hold its own if it aired in the fall; I just know that it would be a hell of a lot easier for me, personally, if it aired in the summer.

And to Chug_a_Bug:
Katey gives the reason in her TVSquad why they were asking for a pay raise: "We wanted what's fair."
Considering the show is on for a 6th season (which will bump it over the 100 episode landmark), and a potential movie in development, and that the show might return to FOX as well, it stands to reason that they would negotiate for a pay raise. When the show his 100 eps, FOX stands to make huge profits from syndication. The actors have been a vital part of the show's success and for me at least that justifies their request for a pay raise.
However, what they were asking was nowhere near to what Variety and The Hollywood Reporter stated, and they continue to report the same error in their updated coverage in spite of the fact it that their statement was proven false.
Keep in mind that the media source that first broke the news was The Toronto Star which Moe gave the scoop to, and that article stated:
The compromise agreement, with the studio paying more and the actors accepting less, comes after the announcement of a 26-episode pick-up here by Comedy Central. [Emphasis mine.] That was an indirect quote from Moe. So please don't believe the crap that Variety is reporting about what the cast was asking and what they allegedly finally settled for.
Oh sure, I'm aware of that. My comment wasn't meant to be critical, if thats what you were inferring, only that it clears up what the dispute was all about. Good luck to them, I say.

Futurama could take King Of The Hill's place (it's a good time slot) right after The Simpsons and before Family Guy.
Yeah, it could...unfortunately the should-have-never-been-made Cleveland Show is taking that place. If it does horribly (which I hope it does) then Futurama could fit in. It kind of sucks that they canceled the long-running King of the Hill for another McFarland thing...now that whole block will consist of three Seth-created shows and only one other: The Simpsons. Fox likes to cancel smart shows for crap.

Damn it, I forgot about the Cleveland Show. Why the hell are the idiots of the world taking over?
Ever since the introduction of the Middle-Class in modern society. You'll want to read my upcoming essay on why I hate and love the Middle Class. As for Matt Groening's spite with FOX, well; Groening had a foot in the door with The Simpsons, when he picked a production company to produce Futurama. And what 20th Fox in the first place? Well, The Simpson originally began with The Tracey Ullman Show, which were already on Fox. So I suppose it is more fate than choice that brought the shows to FOX. Groening had never really liked Fox or FOX, but still remained there as it was the more obvious place to get his shows through.
