Well, we've hit 100,000 posts in on-topic!

What are your most memorable posts about Futurama, your favourite topics or anything else that's happened in General Disscussion?

I still remember my first post in the original quote thread, my first thread which was "defending" Channel 4 (C4 ARE Showing Futurama!) and the thread where Sarge "passed away" (I have some really sad news to report).

So what have you done in General Disscussion and what are your favourite bits?

100,001th post in General Discussion!

General Discussion here on PEEL is the fastest and best place to get new information about Futurama.

I participate in the framegrab game, it's fun, but still is a challenge for me.

EDIT:  I almost had the 100,000th post.  Oh well.

I come to this section when I want to close a thread or two, there is usually something to close  :)

I remember my first post was in this section, something to do with the first episode I saw I think  :)

Dammit.  I wanted to be #100,000.  Oh, well.  I believe that award goes to Victor2000, with aslate taking the prestigious hextuple-niner, and Tweek making a palindrome of it.

This event really takes me back...to two and a half months ago, when I joined.  Actually, it goes a bit further than that.  I discovered PEEL last spring by linking off of CGEF, when I had absolutely jack shit to do because seniors at my high school got out of class four weeks before everyone else, and my job didn't start until June.  I remember reading through all the old threads, accumulating th knowledge of the Old Guard (that's pretty much everyone who signed up before this year and still posts) and the idiocy of the Trolls.  I learned the rules of the board through observation, I learned the personalities of the more frequent posters, and I learned what a great fan community my favorite show had created.  This place also helped keep me going throughout my summer job, which was extremely tedious and had me on a computer for six hours at a stretch.  At college, I actually began to feel like I had time to join, and once I got around the lame bug in the registration screen, I was in.  I look forward to many more years of skipped meals and 2am logoffs (shut up, I love my sleep and that's late for me.)

Viva la PEEL!

Here's m'first post.
You'll have to scroll down a little, since I'm not about to try and figure out what number post it is.
Also,

Now people could post the customary 'My first thread' (*Cough*)

But for me Peel has been about people coming together becuase of a great show. As one of the more recent active 'AGI-ers', meeting people from the board has been both fun and educational. It's also great to look at all the fan-art/fiction that people are spewing out. To think that a year ago I wasn't here... how time flies when you're having fun  :)

I'm not going to let you get away with that  :p

And i agree with Coilette about the AGIs, they're great fun, a nice place to meet and such.

As the saying seems to go, i too "Came for the Futurama, stayed for the off-topic". Almost 3 years i've been here, and i've not regretted it either.

You think the little guy could have one moment for himself, aslate?  :p
Oddly, I didn't notice that for some reason, I'll just settle for the palindrome post.

Excellent, I did notice the number getting close to 100,000.

Well, I signed up in April, lurked, saw some spoilers, got annoyed, watched nearly all the episodes, then came back, and screwed up my first post with a rumour:

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment

:o Sorry! I was on a high after falling into crazed 'yay-futuramas-back' mode.

I think everyone comes for general futurama chit-chat then finds the offtopic forum to be one of the best around, although the fan art/fiction forum is nice and lively too.

Oh my... 100,000. And about 500 or more are from me, I guess...

This here was my first post ever on Peel (21 hours after I joined)!
What songs would you have chosen?

Notice the lack of knowledge how to use the signature option.     :laff:

Also that back than nobody noticed me. It stayed that way until I started the avatar making on the 19th.    :hmpf:

EDIT: Oh my... I just found my first post ever, and coincidentely this here was my 2500th   :laff:

I don't remember where my first post was, although I'm pretty sure it was in Off-Topic.  That started a trend for me of rarely visiting On-Topic, aside for the lenghty episode reviews I did.

Ooh, I remember my favorite On-Topic memory.  Does anyone else remember when [-mArc-] made us put together the Futurama Encyclopedia?  It was treated as a game...each person had to give a definition of a FAQ to newbies, and from that definition, someone had to sprout off another one that was connected.  Whatever happened to that, anyway?

Hooray for PEEL!
I'm just a month old here as well, but my favorite topic thus far has been the 'Worst Episode' thread. Silly posters, there's no bad things about Futurama!

Way to go.

I do remember my first posts, but I won't tell... only the fact that I became Crustacean (achieved 5 posts) almost half a year after registration... and I haven't started any thread yet - the most sure way not to break any rules   :) (technically, the most sure way is not to post at all   :p).

I visit PEEL mostly because of its games...

AND I'M BACK!
hey, i hav'nt posted in quite a while. hmmm. Back now though!
I have no idea where I first posted, but I started posting when i started going out with my 'tome of futurama knowledge' girlfriend, or 'sil' as she is called ohn her occasional post here. It started off just as a way to learn about her interests, but i thought i'd stick around for a while.(... even though i hav'nt for a while, i'l try harder, honest!)

The best thread here in my time, is Mic's thread, which toned down the psychotic petitions and stopped noobs getting thier hopes up for no good reason.

My first post was in on-topic, back in the days when forum moderation was a little less restrictive. Look at all those damn smilies... In retrospect, it wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes by today's standards.

All right, go PEEL!  :D

I've known about this board since about a year ago from a link found at CGEF. I wasn't visiting frequently, though, but as of spring I began reading more often, sort of like Nerd-o-Rama did, checking out the rules etc. Then April, May and June hit me with all sorts of tests and exams, and I had hardly no sparetime on my hands. But then the lovely, lazy summer came. I signed up in July, lurked a little more and practiced drawing Futurama characters until late September, when I finally dared to post my stuff in General Fan Art 4. After receiving positive feedback, I created my first (and only) thread, which is my art thread.

Well, that was a boring story, but I had to tell it  :)
My favorite topics in General? The games. I don't always participate, but it's fun to read (especially the Quote-game thread and "Dub The Framegrab" ).

A flimsy excuse to laugh at my n00b posts? Don't mind if I do.

First, I proposed to ffSOr. Twice. Then, I killed the anagram thread for a month, misspelling Phil LaMarr's name in the process. Then there was my silly argument with SlackJawedMoron (I'd forgotten all about that!). My first thread was an insult to the search feature and common sense.

Ooh, it feels good to get those skeletons out of my closet. They were starting to smell.

Tongue Luck, I thought you had standards.  And that you were gay.  ffSOr is a dude, right?

Although these posts constitute some of my first insights into the weird-ass world of PEELationships, so they do bring back fond memories...

Hooray for PEEL!!! Although I only registered last month I used to be a lurker since April 2004. My favourite threads are
the quote games
guess the framegrab ones
and all the rumours out there!!
100,000 posts and still going strong!! Hopefully we can add another 0 to that!

Culture shock. I'd frequented other message boards where "Marry me, ___________," was seen nearly as often as "TOTPD" is seen here. In other words, so many times that it had long since lost all meaning. Damn you longtime lurkers with your instant post quality. If I didn't think they were hilarious, I'd track down all my dumbass old posts and edit them down to zero. Then you'd see! You'd all see!

Ahem... What's this thread about? Oh yeah. Yay for 32-in-binary! The game threads are great, and so is that "What Reminds You" thing.

Bah! You call that an argument?! I demand that we continue it until it spills over into every other thread on the board, and we drown everyone else in our tide of childish insults and carefully considered death threats! Lay on, McLuck! And damned be they that first cries, 'Hold on, fuck.'

On this rather aimless topic:

PEEL's distracted me on those days when I have nothing better to do. Which is every day.

Oh, wait... there's that big collection of buildings that I go to sometimes... but... can't...

Nope, it's gone.

I can't remember my first thread in this section. I DO remember my first thread though, contained somewhere within Human Resources. The title was all caps and elipses. It stretched the board. I verbally abused a large amount of Peelers. It was fabulous.

Oh, yes... and if I ever had to marry a lesbian for purposes of fraud and hilarious sitcom hijinks, it'd be you, Tongue Luck.

Hmm...General Disscussion has always meant those stupid framegrab/quote games. My first post (or one of the first) was in a "guess the framegrab" game...but I was looking at the first page instead of the 15th and I knew I was right, even though everyone called me stupid  :laff:

Thats what happens when you don't back up your files.  ;)

I don't really remember the first few months, really. I was just the annoying nOOb who made posts that didn't make sense. It wasn't until about last summer, in fact, the I really began to grow up.
