Ever since I was six, when I first heard about the alien class called greys/grays, I have been terrified of them. I have a serious irrational fear so bad, that I'm affraid to keep a window open or go out alone at night. I don't know why, either. Their eyes, they haunt me every night, and I wish it would stop. Anyway, what are some of your phobias or fears?

And also, if someone could the term for my alien phobia, I would be most grateful.

Wasps. Not those Space Wasps, but the common wasp. When i was a child (5 or 6 years old), a friend of mine and myself went through the woods (not far from my parent's garden) and he or i (dunno) stepped on a wasp's nest (yes, there are ground wasps). Well, he got about 30 and i ca. 20 stings... so, i'm still very waspophobic     :(

in another way, i like bees very much! My Uncle is a apiarist and has some thousand bees in several colonies =O but they are very nice bees, and i sometimes even let 1 crawl on my arm

Old phobias:
Greys (you are not alone, got over it by watching the X-files)
Wasps/Bees (Got over it which is good for someone interested in insects)
Needles, forced my self to give blood multable times... that got me over it

Phobias I still have
Moving fast with out control, can't get me on a water slide, roller coaster or on water skiis

fear of aliens = xenophobia.

I tend to fear things that are uncontrollable and could be quite dangerous. for example, the idea of walking behind a horse displeases me.

Other than that though.... fearless, for the most part.

Not really scared of greys in the general sense, although I'd probably freak out if I ever saw one.

I also dislike heights and spiders, but not enough for it to be a phobia.

I was afraid of snakes before....  I was young and watched a program called KLM, and they showed some snakes "eat" another man (not real. It was a funny program actally) and I had some nightmares after that show, and was afraid of them years after that.....

I don't trust dogs, they're too impulsive.

Also I'm not big on hieghts, as I always get an illogical desire to leap over the edge, just for the hell of it.

I really hate bats.  Little flying mice with sharp teeth.  Get in the house on occasion and hang from the curtians.  Chatter at you when you approach them.

I don't think it's really a phobia though.  I can deal with them functionally enough.  Find a sweatshirt, bee hat, and some gloves.  Catch the bat with a wastebasket and a hunk of cardboard and take it outside.

I'm afraid of hights. Not air-plane hights, more like standing-on-the-roof-hights or semi-high-mountain-hights.

I have so many phobias. My mum can't understand why, and she says their silly. My dad believes me though  :) I thought I was afraid of flying, but I'd never been on a plane until last summer. Now I love it!

Phobias:
Injections (but it's not as bad as it used to be)
Some insects
And a really uncommon phobia - balloons. I have no idea why.

That reminds mo of: [Iron Maiden]
Fear of the dark ,Fear of the dark
I have constant fear that something's always near
Fear of the dark, Fear of the dark
I have a phobia that someone's always there
[/IM]
 :D
Not like I have a phobia of the dark. But sometimes, it scares me, especially indoors.

Also don't trust dogs... I never would understand people keeping at their home a creature that is strong enough to kill'em. some bulldog, for example...

Fear of balloons... perhaps because they can pop unexpectedly, making a painful noise and snapping at your skin with flaying rubber?

And dogs.... If properly trained they'll never bite unless someone's hurting a family member, is a stranger breaking into the house, or is physically hitting the dog. I fear poorly trained dogs, just like I fear out of control people. But a properly trained dog is harmless  :D

And Holly, why don't you tell us why you fear hedgehogs so much? An explanation has never been given, far as I know.

NOTHING!! I'm invincible!!  :p

It's not a phobia but I don't like the idea of drowning or having my chest crushed or being trapped in that sort of way, but I don't think anyone likes that.
Other than that i'll climb up high, chase spiders and inject myself with mind expanding drugs every now and then.

Heights, but slowly getting better. Looking down from above a second storey though still scares the shit out of me, yet flying is fine...

I'm not big on wasps either.

I haven't a clue. I loved them when I was very small and suddenly became scared of them. I have no memory of the transition from one to the other, nor do I wish to know. I am just scared shiteless of them.

I used to be afraid of the dark.

About my needle/seringue/blood phobia:
I have to get blood drawn every month, and I found out the fear and the initial sting are the worst parts. Maybe I am getting used to it.

It's weird. I hate writing papers and standing up in front of the class to make speechs, but those are two of the things people always say I'm best at. After all, I was on the 'leadership' board of my H.S. speech'n'debate team. And I'm writing for my college paper. Huh.

I'm pretty fearful. I really don't like tight spaces (so I'm claustrophic), I don't the feel of falling, and I have the standard human fear of being alone.
