Ok, I'm taking TMC's advice. I'm tired of waiting around...I'm making the PEELie Council.

There will be 7 people on this years' council. If you're interested, post here. The council will be chosen from among those who post here, not in any other thread.

I'd love to be part of the council in order to distract from what is sure to be the first year I fail to win anything.

I would say I'd like to be on but
1. I bet I'm too new
2. Probably too young
3. And I don't really post in Off Topic

If none of that matters then count me in.  :D

A council consisting of a huge gun, a nerd, a woman and a 13 year old then? ;)

He'd make a good councillor-person, I hear he's very good with councilling people less fortunate than him

The 80's were shite, I'm ashamed to be born in that decade. Luckily I was too young to remember most of it. Ok so there were a few decent bands but at that age I didn't know they existed and all I was hearing was the helium voiced air guitar, synth and drum machines with no bass, big hair, laughable dress sense and Margaret Thatcher, Yuk!...  :puke:

Spitting Image made up for most as that, as well some other TV programs like Blackadder and The Young Ones.

Jicannon, since you've volunteered to do the dirty work of organization, I'll be on this year's council if I'm needed.

To all who spam this thread: You must not want a PEELies award ceremony this year huh?

If there are quite a few people offering to do a job, open a poll and choose the PEELers with the most votes to fill the empty chairs.

Or, give EVERYONE a PEELie. Either way, the system works.

I would be interested in working for the annual Planet Express Employee Lounge "PEElie" Award Council.

Though, it would be of great help if someone could send to me a short but detailed work description, so I could check if I will have enough time for this in early 2007.

Whatever...

Anyways.  I'm pretty sure the council has had 9 members within it's hallowed halls.... instead of 7.  I could be wrong, but that's how I remember it.  On top of that it allows for more of the workload to be spread out so you don't rely too much on one member.

From the Book of the Illuminati, chapter 4, verses 16 through 20:

"Now did the Lord say, "First thou polleth the applicants. Then thou must select nine. Nine shall be the number of the members and the number of the  members shall be nine. Ten shalt thou not select, neither shalt thou select eight, excepting that thou then proceedeth to nine. Elleven is right out. Once the number nine, being the number of the selection, be reached, then formeth ye council to oversee thine ceremony."

Tradiotionally the Council of Nine have had 9 members.

Last year they were:
Doc Thunder
Melll
F_Hill
alsate
Cloudes
Archie
Tweek
YLB
Teral

Happy recruiting.

It's historically been 9, you are correct. But really, it all depends on what Jicannon wants to do. Cause he took the effort to start this process and you didn't. Rolleyes rolleyes. If a council of 7 or 4 or 10 is his preference, that's what it'll be.

As I finally have broadband myself in my own house, I'd be interested in doing this if there's not already too many people. Which there may well be. (I'm not about to count...)
