How it works:
I'll collect your requests and store them on my harddisk until I feel like uploading them. I guess I'll do it once a month, in the last week of each perhaps. This of course is only for custom avatars.
The next POOL upload won't be before Christmas, no matter how much you cry.                   :p

One thing more, don't get a new custom avatar every new month, it is a previledge to have one. It should reflect your personality, and not be a gallery that changes.                   ;)

@Winna: It's also [alt]+225, apparently. I think I've tried another combination that gave me the thing (an Esszet is the name, I think, though I am not sure of the spelling).

I can't decide if I should make any other holiday avatars from my bird since I don't really celebrate any of them besides x-mas.

Slimmy no longer uploads the avatars.  Please read it here (http://www.peelified.com/cgi-bin/Futurama/12-002247-17/#t668).  So dont email him anymore about them.  You wont have to email GFF about uploading them either, as he has stated how often he will upload them.

doesn't look too bad, a little edgy, though. But that is easily solved since it is too big anyhow with 80x80.
PEEL only allows 64x64, so here is my edit (actually just resized)

Pick the one you want, and post it with Upload to custom underneath.

I'll come around and pick that one up as your custom and add you to the list above. Then wait until I upload all these I have written down on that list. (Will be around next week  :) )
After I did you will have an entry called "CUSTOM" in the avatar menu in your profile.

ok, well I still had to edit it, since it was desturbed by jpg artifacts. This also means that it was in the wrong file-type.   ;)

well avatars here have quite a few regulations.

the type should be .gif, the picture exact 64x64 in width and height and below 3.4kb in file size.  :)

By cleaning out your browers cache from time to time.

Dr. Bender Nye: GFF generally keeps the customs avys linked on his personal webpages.  If I were you, I would save a copy on your computer all the same, just to be on the safe side.

wwe_fk: Avatars need to be 64x64 pixels.  If you want a custom one, and cant/wont do that yourself, you can request it here (http://www.peelified.com/cgi-bin/Futurama/13-000308-8/).  Since you posted it here, GFF will take care of it, so you dont need to repost it, but, just so you know for next time.

Also, next time you want to make a request, please do so in this thread (http://www.peelified.com/cgi-bin/Futurama/13-000308-8/)  That way, adjustments can be made, and then you can host it and post the "upload to custom" yourself.  Someone else hosting, and showing it for you, can get a bit confusing.

Also, are you sure you want this uploaded in November?  There will be another upload in December, before christmas, if you would want to wait.

How it works:

Sadly that is in the wrong format and too big in file size as well.. Try to get it below 3.4 kb and into a gif file.

Beside that, you may try if you want to set its blue background to transparent.

Uploading the Avatar's thread is in off topic because thats where most people on this board spend their time.  Specifically, the one who uploads the avatar's- first Slimmy, and now Germanfryfan, spend most of their time in this section of the board.  Making it easily available in a section that they visit, and isnt filled continually with threads that will be closed after about 5 posts(ie. General) that will push the thread so far down - no one will ever find it, is why is makes sense to keep it in this section

I forgot about the facing right rule!
Yeah, I had it green so as to be similar to my dA avvy.

When I went to my profile, and chose "custom" the new one didn't show up. Plus the number for my avvy that is shown above, is the same number as my signature picture, so I'm not sure what's what. In any case, I'm going to redo a new avvy facing right with transparent background.

That number is your PEEL member id.
Hoover with your mouse over the gender symbol and you can get it.
Avatars and signatures are saved in different folders, so that PEEL shouldn't get confused on what is what. I have only access to avatars, so your signature is save.  ;)

Eh. just transparent would be enough for me. Could do it myself even.  :)

its saying around the 10th.  Meaning the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th...and so on.  You know, you seem to prod every month.  GFF uploads them a lot more often than they used to be, so just relax and let it happen when it happens.

Indeed dr.bender nye, the monthly rhytm hasn't always been like that. In fact it only is that way since I started to take my part in it, in early 2004 people had to wait nearly half a year for their avatars to be uploaded - that's why you shouldn't change it every month.

Custom avatars are a special feature PEEL grands us. Look at it as some thing of luxus. You don't throw a brand new Jaguar away after a week.  ;)

I need to sort the avatars out and rename them, will do that tonight. So be patient until then.

PS. slimmy got kind of tired of you mailing him, that was one of the reasons why he gave me the rights - thanks for that  :)

first off: Benders_Fan and Professor Zoidy, could you drag your personal talking/discussing/arguement to something made for it? Like ICQ, AIM, Yahoo, or MSN I mean. The avatar uploading thread has been banned before, meaning that custom avatars have been banned, just because of that.  ;)
At second, well it is Friday, I am in CET, which concludes that it is Friday night at around 2:30 now... and I just got home from a club meeting. I will start to collect your avatars now and prepare them for hte upload... give me an hour, got much more important stuff right now.  :p

At third: well what my Amy said. Don't be too nervous about them being uloaded today, yesterday or tomorrow. They will be uploaded I can assure you that. However, like she already said: a year or two before your time people were waiting nearly half a year for it to be done. Sometimes they didn't even remember they wanted it, mostly these people didn't even post anymore. I guess I can proudly say that things got much better since I am "helping" or "in charge" of it. Bear with me, I am only human myself.  :)

Won't be before the second week of March.

Please don't change your avatar too much every month, or at least stick to a theme like Amy and I do. You know that an avatar should reflect your online personality, and much like a real personality this doesn't change every month... not even if you are a teen.  ;)

PS: sometimes I think I will change the rhythm of uploading them every month to something like every 6 weeks, or even 8 weeks, just so that people will actually stick to their avatars... but in the end I am not like that  :hmpf:

Would I be able to get one of these uploaded to custom? No matter what I do, I can't bring the size down, and I don't want to have them re-jigged by anybody who isn't me.

I include the transparant one because for some reason PEEL has a fetish about avatars having transparant backgrounds.

If the answer is no, then the answer is no, and I'll just have to accept it. I might go back to having no avatar in that case.

Make sure to save it in either *.gif, *.jpg or *.png. If it is already in the right dimensions for PEEL, *.gif is needed.

Second, make sure it is even reachable on the internet. Just putting the filename there won't do. Get it to be hosted, on Imageshack.us (http://www.imageshack.us) for example.

Long story.

My computer had a virus. We cleaned it up. I came on PEEL to change my email account because the one I was using on 007, was ruined. I changed it, but stupidly I didn't check if I could receive emails on my new account. Lo and behold, I couldn't get my new password at my new email account. Can't get to my 007 profile without getting through to my NEW email account. So I had to create a new profile on PEEL with a working (I made sure this time) email account. Ta da.

It is still saved as a jpg, where it should be gif.
And it is 64x44 where it should be 64x64 like I said before.

Jules: no, you should be able to figure out for yourself what you're doing wrong. You are posting something which is not an avi, and wanting someone to make an avi of it for you. There is a different thread for that, in the Wish Void. Post it there and ask nicely and maybe someone will help you out. GFF was nice and fixed jle's, but jle is newish so he cut her some slack. You're not so new, and GFF probably feels like you're taking his generousity for granted, which isn't very nice.

I don't quite understand what you meant by that, but your avatar request got uploaded yesterday before you edited your posts. It's your custom now, do what you want with it.  ;)

Bender_Fan, like you already said, that avatar was already in use by Dr.Jerkbird. I haven't seen him in quite a long time, but he still has it set as his custom. Maybe you can contact him - ifyou find a way how - and ask if he still needs it.  :hmpf:

Here a question for the listmaker, just out of curiousity: You have any idea when the next uploading will happen, perhaps?

There's no preasure implied, just curiousity: Since my appearances at PEEL and online in general are rather spontaneous and not continously - at least these days - I seem to be missing the magical mystery upload dates.

Is there any possible upload date planned for March maybe?

The last update has just been this Friday, but as you already guessed it, there is one every month.

Next one will be approximately on Friday 9th again. It's pretty much every second Friday of a month.

Ah ok. Well since nobody said anything about that being his avatar when I asked, I wasn't sure if it still was or not. But, since I doubt I'll be able to get in touch with him to ask him, I'll just have to find another link avatar for next months upload. ^^

You post an avatar you'd like to be your own, and GFF uploads it for you. Unless it's someone else's avatar or if it doesn';t meet the right standards, meaning, it has to be a 64x64. That's what this thread is for..
