By me, that's right, I'm the hero!!:
In the queue:
Kryten's Catastrophe part 5 Dave Vincents Background Noise part 13,14 and 15 Mitch's The Full Circle part 4 Layla's Misery Loves Company SoylentOrange's Talora
Missy's Cyclopes Mama, Martian Mama Purple Fish's What if-machine PCC Fred's The Fifth Season, part 4 So getting better all the time. As for a redesign: certainly not among our top priorities. Maybe around #24 or #25, depending on how well our home brewery goes.

Hey, you're the one who's trying to kill Fry. Besides, I don't think the site needs a redesign. I think it's perfect the way it is. It just needs more Leela, that's all.

A) Leandro has a life, complete with a job, paying bills, having to eat and keeping a roof over his head. He probably also goes out on dates, possibly plays golf and tennis and in general, has things going on in his life that doesn't revolve around a website dedicated to a cancelled sci-fi cartoon.
B) At one time TLZ was dedicated to Leela, but since so many sites have gone down, Leandro incorporated the entire show into the site.
C) FM:TLZ almost went down for good last year due to financial problems with the server. Only because some viewers donated money to keep the site up did it not go down (as a matter of fact, Leandro can confirm that not only did I donate money to keep the site up, I also offered to pay for the server for one year by myself if others didn't donate, and if he couldn't keep the site that I would financially sponser it in my name and keep the current team of mods - if that had happened I would not have changed one single thing about the the site).
D) Most of the currents mods live in countries other than the USA and are stuck with dialup instead of broadband. When the site relocated last October, I know that Graham, Teral, Kif, Leandro and the other mods literally spent hours uploading the data. These guys do this because of the love for the show, they don't get paid a cent to do this. Here's a chance to thank them for a job well done.
E) If you don't like FM:TLZ's layout or message board or whatever, you can always start your own Futurama webiste and design it any way your little heart desires. You can even have a special area of 'One Thousand Ways to Kill Fry' if that warms the cockles of your heart.

He isn't nearly obsessed with Leela enough, but could you be too obsessed with Leela??? C) FM:TLZ almost went down for good last year due to financial problems with the server. I don't like him either. By 'he isn't fucking', I mean he ain't getting any. As in, he's in love with a cartoon character - I'd rather doubt a real, live, flesh-and-blood woman would let him anywhere near her.

Yep. Links to pics on TLZ keep appearing and disappearing, and I try to open it sometimes and I get it, sometimes the main page becomes the fanfic page while remaining index.html, and sometime it's just nonexistant. I think it's going through some checkups and updates. Oh, I can't wait!

The only 2 people who can prevent the problem is Slimmy and -marc-. -marc- has real life issues, a new wife and is rarely seen. Slimmy has been seen a lot over the past two months.
According to NOR, this software is ancient and should be updated, but if it's updated it should be something that's compatable with the archives and userlist. I'm not a techie so I have no idea how easy or difficult it will be to do that.
As for sacrificing spammers to the volano Gods - they have their standards and would reject our spammers...
I wouldn't be opposed to a pay system - non-members could post 2 times a day but view all the topics and members who pay - say, 5 bucks a year would have unlimited posting priviledges. That would cut down on the spammers who nymshift when they get banned and give -marc- and Slimmy funds to pay for server space and update the system without breaking their bank accounts.

Aw nuts. FM TLZ's still down. At least, it won't come up for me. Not to be construed as a complaint, but what gives? When might we expect the return of one of our two favorite Futurama sites? No, I'm not referring to myself in the third-person!

Seeing as to how I was willing to sponser FM/TLZ for a year last year, to me paying 5 bucks a year to decent websites/message boards makes sense to me. It keeps the worthless spammers out and it doesn't place the financial burden on one person. If somebody is damned cheap to spend 5 bucks a year to belong to a decent board, then they obviously don't care about the community.
That goes for FM/TLZ, PEEL and my beloved Harley-Davidson group.
And NOR, I don't think that the mods here are lazy. Burned-out maybe, but not lazy.

Or they're deathly and irrationally afraid of tradign credit card information over the internet (or worse, their parents are). I wouldn't mind having to pay for privileges, I suppose, but I admit I probably wouldn't utilize them anyway. The "x-posts per day for non-paying members" didn't sound half-bad either, but I don't post that often here.... Whatever -mArc- and Slimmy decide, I hope the forum survives. PEEL seems to be the hub of the Futurama community at the moment, and for that to vanish with little warning would... well, it would not be good, IMHO.

The same people who cry about protecting their identities are usually the same ones with personal webpages and myspace accounts that give out all their personal info except their underwear size. I wouldn't mind having to pay for privileges, I suppose, but I admit I probably wouldn't utilize them anyway. Running a website is expensive and time consuming - I've done it before. Some people seem to think that the world owes them a living and that everything available on the net should be free. Whatever -mArc- and Slimmy decide, I hope the forum survives. PEEL seems to be the hub of the Futurama community at the moment, and for that to vanish with little warning would... well, it would not be good, IMHO. I agree, and the same to Leandro and company @ FM/TLZ. It would be bad to lose either or both of these sites with the resurgence of Futurama on the horizon.
