is the futurama fan-o-rama still up and running? this is katey, aka girl from the future, aka gftf, and i helped to start the FFOR with Caitlin and Marissa, a couple years back, when the show was just starting out. i created a website for it, and then i changed my email and lost subscribtion. so, i was wondering, if anyone know is the FFOR is still going on, and if so, where can i subscribe to it again?

well .. i know your go.to/ffor ... it was a sad thing to see FFOR go down and I really hope someone feels entitled to get it back going. Marissa won't rejoin, Cait i never talked to, so my hopes lay on you and the current staff ... For starters, I added a link to it on planetroadmap to the major search engines ... I have to say that i rarely read it, but i hated seeing it go down the dumps ... If i can help somehow (but by writing articles, not good at that being the german i am ) let me know FFORs/Jason ...

How about I upload the very first and the very last issue of the newsletter in the fanfic forum so those who do not know it can have a look. additionally .. how about opening a board on PEEL to integrate FFOR ? I could set it so that noone could start new threads (so, only the issues would be there) but everyone (even non-peelers) could respond. Additionally i could point a domain there and change the look (exchange PEEL header). im still still thinking about how to get the mailing done as out of the 570 subscriptions .. there are probably lots of invalid emails which could get PEEL into troubles as bouncing mails go to the hoster ... So basically, I would propose to change the NewsLetter to a Web-Editorial with Archive and the possibility to respond to it, if thats wanted. As PEEL is one of the bigger futurama webpages right now (yay ) and I'm sure many sites would be willing to share a link for a link back from that board or even contribute, that could give the letter a quick new start in that form. Ideas ? Thoughts ? Vetos ? There should be a fixed Crew working on the next issue each and the next issue should have a fixed schedule so people know when to come and look for it. Katey, please try to contact Cait, too. So, upload two issues ? Update: cant upload the last issue as Jason only gave me Issue 1 to 43 of Volume 1. Jason ?

sounds like everyone is willing to pitch in! that's great...... by the way, i tried to contact caitlin, no response, did she get a new email? i have an idea- everyone who is willing to contribute to the FFOR again send me an email telling me what you'd be willing to do! we'll need everything from editors to writers, someone to put out the list, etc. i'll do caitlins part this time, i guess, by getting everyone together and getting the paper out again, and i'll also make a new website like i was making one last time.
btw- about the website, does everyone think frames are a good idea? frames are so much easier to navigate but not all browsers support them, like, 3.0 and below or something doesn't so......... whats the opinion on that?

well, i could still mail it using a yahoo group. But i kinda like the idea of letting them respond and having an archive ready. It would still get its own domain like www.fan-o-rama.com is free and could be used to redirect directly to the post overview of FFOR (the letters). Also, i think the latest issues have gone some oversized ... 40kb text is too much, a 15kb newsletter is way more appealing to people. Im not forcing the idea of using a subboard on peel for this on anyone (after all, I'd I pay, so i would do it out of ... the feel that i want it back), but i think a whole page only for the letter is overpowered, cause there wouldnt be anything new for a month or two weeks or whatever. People stop visiting such sites. Discuss. (I uploaded the first edition of the newsletter to the fanscript board here so people can see how it was if they dont know it)
