Futurama Fandom I was very bored and decided to start a site. Not much in it yet - in fact, don't even bother going there, it's under construction - but pretty soon I will have people's fanfiction up to read (if they want me to, of course). I could put PEEL parodies on there, if anyone wants. I know it's probably been done before, but I don't think there's a single Futurama site devoted solely to fandom. Just email me your fic and I'll get it up there, or you can post it on the little crappy message board I subscribed to, specifically for the site. I'd say it's a good start, considering my very low knowledge of HTML. Note: If this whole thread seems unnecessary, then go ahead and close it. I'm going to be working on my site a little bit before it's really ready for publicity, I just want people to know in advance to send in fanfics. EDIT: Fixed the link, it was broken...

Ahh looks like a bit of competition.  Your's is kool Hil but theres a typo in it " Futrama Fans unite" Well here's mine, in a variety of sizes If you want one with a plain background, tell me and i'll make you one, i would've just included it here but i screwed up and flattened the image, doh! Anyways i don't want to make it again if you're not going to use it, but it won't be a problem if you do want it. Anyway here they are    Here's the original... if you want to resize/edit it yourself, its something like 2400x400 so its goes down to a good size at alright quality. http://members.lycos.co.uk/sleek85/FuturamaFandomFullsize.jpg Again, i'll host it if you need. They're great. I'll try hosting them. I'll email you if I need you to host. They're both excellent logos. I'll put Rage Dump's up and when Hil fixes the typo... I'll put hers on a page too. Descisions descisions... I hate picking favorites  EDIT: Looking for fanfics... got one you want on the site?? Or drawings, even if they've been sneakily colored with Photoshop or something *mumbles* You people and your fancy art programs... I had to learn to do all my drawing and coloring myself! No help from any art programs, I never even got a scanner until this year... |

Maybe you could use one for a link thing, or a part of your PEEL sig, something like that, just something to think about. EDIT : Oh! and if you want to upload the 800x133 logo again, I got rid of that pesky black bar on the left. EDIT2 : My opinion on the usage of the logo Hil's - Top of the page, will blend nicely into the background, and it is also a smaller file. Mine - Maybe as a footer or something, or as a 'home' or top of page button. And maybe compress the smallest one a tiny bit, and upload it as your PEEL sig, linking to your site |

Hil: for your logo, you don't need the 'index.htm' at the end. www.freewebs.com/futuramafandom is enough and can be bigger and look nicer Just a friendly coment. edit: here is a logo for you. I was bored...  My internet died so I got bored again... This one has a lot smaller file size if you are woried about data limits etc...  Note that the 'background' image can be changed for each of these. The image I have used is only a sugestion... feel free to sugest your own. |

Hey AF. I don't mean to be rude or anthing and I mean this in the nicest way possible, but there is already plenty of fanfic/fanart sites. If you realy want the site to work then you need a new gimmic or idea to get people to visit. On that note I have been thinking about starting a small site with an idea I had one day, but I don't realy have time to set it up on my own. If you like we could combine the ideas (i.e. have fanfics and my idea) and make a site that would be more likely to attract visitors and have more of a purpous of being. Mail me using the mail link at the bottom of the post if you are interested. (note that the idea isn't that good that I don't want to tell anyone, I just don't want to post about it whilst I decide if I want to build the site) ---  |

I can only make basic tables/layouts myself, sorry, i was never particuarly good at HTML and what i do know is essentually self-taught, along with everything else i know, you probably know just as much as me... I do think it is within my power to put it in a template... But not without a lot of screwing around and other stuff that someone else will find a hell of a lot easier. So, i'm sorry, but i can't won't do the template.  |

Well, i did end up doing something else tonight, so i didn't get much done... But i still did another logo, I'll finish it (Add the rest of the text in) later... As for the buttons and stuff, i did a couple, but i won't show them just yet, i'm still trying to get the colour gradient right... Anyway heres the logo, just picture it with the words "uturama andom" after the double F thing Also, i haven't shrunk it yet.  I'll be flat out tomorrow, but i might get the rest done still, we'll see how we go. |

Yes, two contests. A fanart one (where the artists are given a theme, and there will be voting), and a short story one (where the writers are given several things to incorporate into the story/a location/a specific theme). Sounds good?
Futurama_Hil: That could work... yes... With a contests page, it's always good to have a "<Blank> of the <Time>" (Eg. Fanfic of the month) Also i'm getting 404's when i try and get to your site... Hmmm... And Hil, while that would fix the choosing problem, it makes the site confusing, and difficult to get around. And a 100% basic lesson in HTML <b> Bold</b> <i> Italics</i> <a href=http://www.yoursitehere.com.au target=_new>Links</a> Links Don't ask why, i just felt like doing that. And if you don't know HTML, doesnt work on PEEL, (it does on Asy-Fry's message board though )
