Bear with me if my first question has been addressed elsewhere; I've been away from the Futurama sites for a while, I'm new to this board, and the Search function turned up nothing recent...

Is "LiC" gone for good? Or just down for a bit?

Bam! People are talking about continuing the show as an online Flash toon protected by "parody" laws. If it can work, I'm all for it. Best start: an adaptation of the online fan-comic "The Right Way and The Wong Way."

As someone voted "Most Likely To Stalk Lauren Tom"--just kidding!--I adore the "Ain't No Such Thing As Too Much Amy Wong" website and hope to see more!

Well, Nova said it's due to DNS-Problems. They have an argentinan DNS and no one seems to care about it there.

If you ask me ... They could've gotten a temp subdomain or even a new non dependand domain long ago if they really cared ...

Hope they get back up though.

Just checked; now there's a page reading "LiC will be back soon." Mondo! Thanks for your reply.

Geez! I never know about anything. I help out at LiC, but I hear news about it like everyone else does, through other websites.

OK. Here is the showdown.
The problem originally was the DNS. _BUT_ there was another problem. It's Explosive changed servers, and for one reason or another LiC didn't make it, so the online copy was destroyed.
This was sorted out yesterday (by half-accident).

So. The DNS was working (I don't know for how long, probably for maybe 2-3 weeks), but the site didn't exist.

Now, the site WAS up for a few hours last night (EET) after the account had been re-created, and it read "LiC will be back up soon". But Leandro already (he, like me, thought there was something wrong with the domain name) had started to move LiC onto mydomain. And thus it went down again.      :(

If this is not sorted out very soon, I'll ask ex-net for a temporary domain name (probably would be lic.its-explosive.net) to get the site up and running.

And as for caring about the site.. Well, I could say I've been overburdened with work, work, work for the last two months, and the same pace will continue for the next two months. The site went down almost at the worst possible moment. I now have week-long holiday, and I hope to get the site back up during this time so that the co-webbys can start doing updates.. I really won't have much time for that.

Oh yeah, Allen, you're welcome back to work for LiC anytime. Like I said, I can't do much for the site during this spring, so most of the update-responsibility falls upon the co-webbys.

So...do you still care about LiC? I know you do, you're the only one who can fix the damn thing! ;)

The DNS is now working again, after a short trip to mydomain. I'll upload the site during this week.

Ok, hope to see it soon. What are you going to do once there are no more eps anyway?

Futurama will still be on air for another year (hopefully). People seem to forget that there are lots of unaired episodes in the can waiting to be aired. And at the pace FOX is airing them, they'll last quite some time.

I know that. The question is still valid. Especially since this season hasn't been that romance orientated. (with exception of Love & Rocket

Well we'll cover those romance eps. that come out. It doesn't matter if they aren't very frequent. When Futurama ends, well, then we'll see how much people still have interest in it and decide if to continue or not. But we'll be online as long as Futurama is aired.

I might move it to some smaller place or distribute it among several sites.. LiC can't live after Futurama (if the fansubmitters stop doing new stuff) because webhosts require some updating, even if it isn't that frequent. Maybe I'll do some "Futurama romance in memoriam" out of the LiC material, that would take around 10-20MB webspace.. or someting, only time will tell.

YESSSSS!! ME GET SNOO-SNOOOOOO!!!

Thanks, guv'nor. Now, post a little skin?  ;)

Two sides notes:

(1) Thanks to everyone who has welcomed me so warmly, or just snickered at my feeble antics. I almost feel like I have a life.

(2) Much talk about the Afterlife of "Futurama." If--IF, we must keep hope alive, over 77,000 people can't be wrong--if the show doesn't go on, the comic will probably fold; I would love to see the efforts of the folks behind so many individual sites pooled together to keep "Futurama" alive. People already make animated online games based on the show, I can see full-blown Flash animations happening. Kricfalusi does online toons, why not?

In any case, please know that all your efforts are very deeply appreciated by fans. Isn't that right, you twice-baked bar-f**s?

But so are FSAC and CRU.. there is some trouble with the ex-net webserver. (it can't parse shtml-files, run cgi or php -scripts, etc...)

Yeah, the site was pulled more than 18 months ago after the Its-explosive-network dropped their free plan.

AstroZombie made a complete backup of the content, and talked about maybe resurecting it. I wonder if he still want to do that? I mean, provided he has the time to do it.

Anyway, more stuff in this thread.

Man this is old...  I'm sure there are shippers out there who wouldn't mind helping ressurect the site though.
