Originally posted by commie detector: so you aren't bothered by the fact that you are keeping the name of a site that already exists... Nope. Neither is the proprietor, apparently. that is a forum.... Exactly. If ours was a forum as well, I'd change it. Our focuses (foci?) are entirely different, there's no risk of overlap. but you have to copy and paste just the www. address into the address bar... No idea what this part means. Additionally, as I pointed out before, the "Infosphere" is (presumably) a trademark of Fox, Groening, or somebody. Neither one of us holds the trademark, so there's no legal ramifications either way, unless they come from Fox, in which case we're both in trouble. But my lawyer friend has informed me that it would be highly unlikely, as pursuing such a case would cost them lots of money, and only be a minor inconvenience to me. And if they want to put a link to their infosphere on our infosphere, that's cool too. All they have to do it edit this page and add it. Actually, anyone can add a site to other Futurama-based sites.

Well, the Infosphere has continued to grow and now has over 120 articles, with more coming every day. We lost some contributors but gained some more. Accidentally hit submit prematurely. Anyway. The site is growing and can only pick up momentum. Come by and check it out, we could always use more contributors and even if you are too lazy to contribute, you can always browse around, there's much to see already.

Fry: No, if you don't log in it just shows the IP address you connected from but you can still make changes. Of course, no info is required except an email address to create an account, and you can rest assured we won't be selling your email address to anyone. Sk8: Yeah; you could go with a compact textual listing, or integrate a screenshot + detail list like the ones in "Sewer Mutants" or "Minor Characters". For now I'd go with a short text-only listing, formatted something like this: *Extensomatic arms: Bender's arms and legs are capable of extending to many times their normal length. First appearance: [[Some episode's title]] And in the future, questions about how pages should be done can be posted in the attached discussion page; me and the other major contributors and sysops keep an eye out and if needed everyone can contribute to the discussion. (Not all contributors on the Infosphere are PEELers.)

Do a search for the page you want to add. The search results should come back saying: "No page with this exact title exists, trying full text search." The words "exact title" should be a link. Click on it. Write in {{subst:PlanetArticleTemplate}} in the large textbox. Write "planting seed" as the summary. Then submit the page. Now the page exists; edit it, using the help provided inside <!-- --> . You'll only be able to see the help if you try to edit the page. When you are done updating it, make sure to remove {{Working}} from the top of the page, so other people know it is ok for them to update it. That should do it. Did that make sense? This link may help clarify what I was saying. Edit: I screwed up the link before ------------------

I did all of the ones with Unknown links. That site is a great resource! Edit: You shouldn't have to worry about writing long essays. When there is something already there, people are more likely to expand it. I'm not one for writing long essays either .
