I spent 10 minutes trying to register, couldn't, got frustrated and gave up. Looks nice though.

Last time i wanted to sign up with ezboard I decided not to as they wanted me to fill in quadrillion personal things and sign me up for a dozen news/spam letters. I know those were optional, but it sure shows where they are heading.
As to stealing memebers, don't think that will happen, there has been competion before. You should really go for your niche topic maybe (merchandise).

No it is not easy. I filled in all the stupid forms, rechose a nickname twice (then retyped my passwords each time).  Then when everything was ready, the page wouldn't load, and I'd hit the back button, and have to retype my passwords again, and this happened about 5 times. Then I said to hell with it.   

Edit: Apparently, one of my attempts did work, I just got a confirmation email.
