If you would like, I would be honored to have my versions of 'Future Guy' on the site. I wrote it for the FryScape videogame, but I'd be happy to give it to you for the Music site as well.

I think basically having the songs, a good site design, lyrics, and maybe some pictures would be more than enough... It seems like you're shooting for a themed website (audio files) and that's what you need to keep track on... rather than going off and doing other stuff and making a general website. Btw, µ is pronounced "mu" and it's used in scientific stuff... it's also used to represent the metric system's micro.... like in micro liters Where is your site hosted at now aslate? It is still up right? I could swear I visited a couple of days ago.

It seems like you're shooting for a themed website (audio files) and that's what you need to keep track on... rather than going off and doing other stuff and making a general website. That's what I was thinking. As soon as I can decide on a name and a host, I'm just going to have the songs, information about them, lyrics, with a framegrab for each song. Here's what I was thinking for the layout of the site: The main page would have links to a section for songs from each season, and maybe a section for songs from not-one-specific-season (and user submissions like NP's), and a section for site information. Each season page would have a table with a list of songs, the episode, and a direct link to the mp3 file. When you click on a song, you get a page similar to this: Song Title[Framegrab from during the song] Download filename.mp3Fliesize: #.## MB Song Length: ##:## m:s Episode: Ep. Name, #ACV## Singers: List of characters who sing in the song, possibly color coded with lyrics (see below)Lyrics: Lyrics to song, font color coded by character and who is singing certain parts of the songs (see above)Download filename.mp3For example of the color coding thing, for the 2nd Xmas song, the toy factory one, under singers, it might list Fry in orange font, Bender in gray, Leela in purple, Elves in green, and Robot Santa in Red. Then the lyrics would read: We are free and fairly sober with so many toys to build. The machines are kind of tricky, probably someone will be killed. But we gladly work for nothing,[/green][orange]Which is good because we don't intend to pay! [/orange][black (meaing everyone is singing)]The elves are back to work today! [/black]Hooray! We have just a couple hours to make several billion gifts. And the labor isn't easy, [/green][purple]When you all work triple shifts! You can make the job go quicker if you turn up the controls to super speed! [/purple]It's back to work on X-mas eve, Hooray! [/black][purple]And though you're cold and sore and ugly your pride will mask the pain [/purple][orange]Let my happy smile warm your hearts [/orange]There's a toy lodged in my brain! We are getting awfully tired and we can't work any faster and we're very very sorry [/green][gray]Why you selfish little bastards! Do you want the kids to think that Santa's just a crummy empty handed jerk? Then shut your yaps and back to work! [/gray]Now it's very nearly X-mas and we've done the best we could [/green][orange]These toy soldiers are poorly painted [/orange][purple]And they're made from inferior wood [/purple][gray]I should give you all a beating but I really have to fly [/gray]If I weren't stuck here frozen I'd harpoon you in the eye! [/red]Now it's back into our tenements to drown ourselves in rye [/green][purple]You did the best you could, I guess, and some of these gorillas are ok [/purple]Hooray! We're adequate! [/green]The elves have rescued X-mas day, hooray! [/black][/i] Of course, it wouldn't be tags like that, but I would change the font color in HTML.

I voted for other. I like the sound of Futurama Frequency
Classy, and gets the job done. On a side note, I don't like MHOP, since it sounds much like iHop, a U.S. restaurant chain.

As long as they call it Originally posted by Nixorbo Honest Bender's Quality Used Legal MP3s Say...now that I think about it, I do believe everyone at Rice gets some personal webspace. Unfortunately, I don't think it's quite enoough for the volume we're talking about. Plus, I have zip experience in site design. Remember though, Zeep...there's always PayPal.

A good pay site for web hosting is www.34sp.com their prices are reasonable and their servers reliable. I know a number of webmasters who have their sites hosted with them and I used to have one there myself. If I wanted the songs from the episode soundtracks I'd simply rip the DVD, although the original song would be a nice idea but you're going to have copyright problems if you host them and possibly with the episode rips too. gotfuturama.com or TLZ have clips which are typically a few seconds long which the legal eagles at FOX are likely to let pass, but full length songs they'll probably take a dim view of. Personally if I just wanted to share some MP3's Usenet is a fast and free alternative and has unlimited, though temporary, storage.

Well, here's what I think is going to happen, it's going to be one of two scenarios:
1. I learn PHP sometime between now and theend of the school year, and I wite the site, guage people's interest, and find a free host, and if there's enough traffic, maybe upgrade to a paid host (with a possible addition of ads, and/or a request to donate money).
2. This is the last post I make, I completely abandon the idea, and someone comes to my house one day and knocks me unconcious, and dumps my body in a river in South America.
I'd like to go with the first one, but god knows if I'll be able to retain my interest in the idea.

Meh, that's ok. At least you didn't bump it with nothing to add. Just make sure you don't do it again.
