True, there were three seperate sotorylines to complete in a limited number of pages, but, to me, it felt a bit rushed.
I did like the "sab-o-tah-zhe" versus "sab-o-tay-zhe" gag, though.

That joke was referred to in one of the S4 DVD commentaries, by Maurice LaMarche, IIRC.

*Ahem*
Alrighty then. Carry on...   :)

Edit: *Blush* I'm a notoriously bad dancer (although my spellchecker says I got "notoriously" right), so how about this:

Time-Travel and This issue: This issue feelt pressured, not only because it promised more than it could deliver (More fun than a barrel of brain slugs) but also because it's about time-travel and all the obvious flaws and paradoxes that this topic brings. I heavily dislike when time travel is used and then the writers have someone state this fact and then dismiss it in this way.

Time travel is beneath Futurama. Sure it can bring some good stories but it sacrifies the comics integritey.

Story: The story with alternate time lines was good, it brought some good laughs, pop culture references (see Newkirk) and it reffered to the tv-show many times which is something that I like. I think the writer took the easy way out of having the omicronians ending the intergalactic war just because Fry is stupid and there was way to little about Bender. Although I liked what he had been up to during his 400 years. And the thing about Leela just pure sucked, a 4 year old could have made more sense and added more plausibility to that. Although I liked the greek part, ancient Greece would have been awsome had it been like that. Despite my resent for time-travel I admit that it leads to great jokes about altering the future and meeting persons who later plays a great impact on the future (see Plato).

Drawings: First of all I need to mention the cover art which is awsomeley drawn. A lot of action in it. Best yet. The characters as we know from the tv-show are dead on (except Fry but we've seen this version of Fry in past comics so we're used to him looking like this) and the new background characters are even better looking than the ones from the show. There isn't very much shadowing but the panels that are shaded look brilliant. An especially awsome panel is: p.16 panel. 3, beautifully drawn. and panel 4 on page 22 is my favourite comic-panel ever in history.

Other stuff I noticed: How come Lrrr and Kirk are alive in the year 1917 ? How come anicent greek still carved and wrote in stones even though  they had aquired robot-technology ? How come the skeleton wasn't a robot even though the greeks surely must've created him too ?

Best Joke: "Your mother has sex with cats." <-- Not something you hsould say to Cerberus.

"The Styx and Stones they're breaking my bones" <-- Great pun, even though the skeleton should've been a robot.

3 Stars out of 5. Good but not great.

I thought the story was a little rushed, but it was alright. I enjoyed it.

I finally for issue #19 today!  It was really cool!  I liked how the story was turned into an awards show, and I liked the Hogan's Heroes parody with Fry!  My only complaint is there was no previews for issue #20 like there usually is at the end of some comics.

The Time Bender Trillogy was excellent!  I'm looking forward to issue #20 now!

I was disappointed with #19. It wasn't as good as the other comics. It was like they rushed it badly or something. Tisk tisk.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought issue #19 was a bit disappointing, and that a few others agree...

What I don't understand is why this issue bombed so badly. I mean the other parts ot the Time Bender Trilogy were pretty good, but issue 19 (sorry) just sucked. The only part that I liked was the comic con articals after the comic.

One thing that really pissed me off was the cover. It made me think that this issue was gonna be really action wise with Fry, Leela, and Bender but nope! They didn't really show Bender while he was tied to the rope, Leela's story was boring halfway, and Fry's was fairly amusing. I am sorry but I give this a 3. Not horrible but certainly not great.  :nono:

I just didn't like the way it was written, that was my main problem. Too much time on Fry and Leela's stories (especially Leela's, which was boring), and not enough time concluding it. As the final part, the previous issues should have dealed with the majority of each characters stories, and this issue should have spent more time wrapping it all up. It should have been tense and gripping, right until the end. Instead it got bogged down and boring so that the reader had lost interest towards the end. That's what I thought anyway...

Me too. And I'm repeating this but: One thing that really pissed me off was the cover. It made me think that this issue was gonna be really action wise with Fry, Leela, and Bender but nope!
