I apologize in advance if this really belongs in the PE stockroom.  ;) I really wasn't sure since it is kind of a mixed question.

I want to buy a game platform soon and I also want to be able to get the Futurama game for it. I have only seen Gamecube and I really liked that one but they don't have the Futurama game??? Does anyone know if that issue is truly dead or possibly still pending?

If that one won't have a Futurama game then out of PS2 or Xbox, which one would you all reccommend as the better system, both graphics-wise and  for controller use? Am I over looking any other platform that might be better? I haven't owned a game platform since I tossed my Atari 5200.  :nono:

Any opinions on this matter would be greatly appreciated!

As far as I know, this does belong in PE Stockroom.

Also, buy an X-box, it has Halo and Ninja Gaiden, nuff said.

Oh you poor poor soul. I personally like PS2 and GameCube and I'm a proud owner of both. Xbox does have some great games, but not as many as PS2 or GC.

Characters:
Fry- Orange Pixel
Leela- purple pixel
Bender- Grey pixel

Plot: Move the PlanEx ship(big green pixel) through terrifying pixelated space levels and reach the end before Earth(large blue and green box) is destroyed by the omicronians(big green and brown pixels).

That has Game of the Year potential...

Pffft, get a Gamecube, the ultimate Social Machine. You never know when Nix, Capper and Fishy might pop in intenet on killing you and stealing all your stuff.

You mean the system that has limited or no official online support for its most popular multiplayer games, of which there are relatively few? The one that also boasts very few system link games? Yeah, real social machine, that.

REAL LIFE Social. As in, 'I invite normal people to come over and play'.

I would have to say that the gamecube rocks, as nurdy says it is most definitely the most social. There are plenty of games that are good for sitting round having a few beers and just generaly arsing about. The xbox is the other end, a high power machine with some nice titles, but I think it doesn't really have that console feel. I have a PS2 and whilst I feel that it is getting dated really, there is an awesome collection of games and still some nice titles in the works. Personaly I would go for the GC right now, a few years ago the PS2 and if I didn't have a PC the XBox

Hey man, the Xbox IS more "real life" social. How many GameCube LAN parties have you been to? I've been to about 6 Xbox LANs. The fact that the Xbox has sold more in the US than the GameCube, at least in my region, probably helps, since there's plenty of Xboxen and game discs to go around.

The Futurama game sucks though. I'd hate to think you based your console purchase on that game. The music wasn't bad though.

Are you kidding? Get a GAMECUBE. Best exclusive games at the moment are being made for the Gamecube, plus its the best for multiplayer by a streak!

Are you kidding? Don't listen to us!! Seriously. Decide what kind of game's you like, and purchase a console accordingly.

Though, since I know your all begging for my opinion on the subject, I'll say this:

X-Box for the best western style games i.e. First person shooter's, racing (I guess), and, er, other stuff. Has Halo, which owns. And other things I guess. It's also the most impressive, technology wise (which don't mean jack if you ignore things like design, playabilty etc. eg: Blinx      )

Gamecube for the best Jap style games. i.e. RPG's (quiet, pikkabird.      :p), strange little puzzle games, and what ever else... Probably has the biggest old school following, as it has franchises that stretch back for years. Keep the faith, boys! Some excellent games. Incidently, the fact that it's sales aren't spectacular means that it'll drop in price before the others do... this may have already happened. Supply and demand, fellas.

PS2 is the most mainstream one, and the one fanboy's love to hate.      ;) It usually get's ports from everything (bar the exclusive's, of course) and has the largest selection of games from all comers. Many of them are actually good, too! But if you wanna keep your gamer cred, just bash the shit out of it at every oppurtunity. Incidently, this is the only one I have.

Ignore all the superflurous features like DVD capability and music downloads or whatever. Remember that you're buying a VIDEO GAME console. Everything else is just a slight bonus.

Also, the Futurama game is never coming to gamecube, it's most definately a dead issue, and anyone who tells you otherwise is a damn fool.

Ehh, screw LAN parties on Xbox. I'd take 4 good friends sitting and playing Mario Cart: DD! or Super Smash Bros Melee anyday.

Naturally. However, when I get get great games (if not the sort that consume your life for weeks, then at least the sort I enjoy a lot when I'm playing them) on a console, and the console cost as little as 1/10 of the price of a good new PC... well. I guess you've lost your hessian bag that time.

I just bought an X-Box to go along with my Gamecube and PS2.

My advice - if you have friends around and they like video games, the Gamecube is the one to get, plus it's $50 cheaper so you can get a game.

If you'd rather go online, then it's a toss up. I prefer the games for PS2, but X-Box live (which unfortunately isn't free) is set up very well.

Or wait and get the portable Nintendo DS which looks like the coolest system EVER.

Totally PopeTastic. After i saw some movies and screens of some of the games showcased at E3, i alomst shit myself. Mario 64x4, Metroid Prime:Hunters, a new Mario sidescroller, Mario Kart, ANIMAL CROSSING!!!!
Plus the ability to play DS AND GBA games!!!

PSP is completely shit compared to the DS.

uh, may be heading off topic but...there's a rumor that the Animal Crossing game will be multiplayer which would be so cool (especially with the wifi functionality)!

You know who's excited? THIS GUY.

I like that people are ready to claim the PSP is shit compared to the DS when AFAIK no one here has played either device. I'll reserve judgement until the proper reviews of games start flooding in, but at the moment I'd say both systems look very nice, but the DS will have to make it's dual screens useful or it will become a gimmic, and that's what some of the games at E3 were using it for, just a pretty useless gimmic.

Dual screens *could* rock!

The PSP isnt' shit, it looks great. However, the DS won me over quick by it's pure innovation. Dual screens is just the start - touch screen, voice recognition,  wifi connectivity, instant messaging, 16 player multiplayer with no wires (100 ft radius). I was not expecting any of that stuff.
