check this out...

They're selling these at eBay... someone made it, it's not official merchandise, so there's only one copy. Definitely, um, unique. It would be cool if someone bid on this, there's quite a bit of time left to bid if you want this.   :D

Is that what I think it is?

What I think it is = One of those old style (Russian?/Chinese?) toys were you can stack them inside each other.

That is truely bizzare.

Exactly. I dunno... even though I'm a hardcore fan, that toy seems a little creepy to me...

I saw that listed on E-Bay, but I passed by because it seemed too strange to be true.

It's either a hovercar or Fry's Iffy Pop popcorn.

I would be more impressed if that were hand-painted, but it really does not look like it.

Alright, Futurama punching bags!

And if I had to make a guess, I'd say the one on the bottom right is Nibbler's ship.

EDIT: Checked it...They want 39.00 USD. It's cool, but even if I had the money, I wouldn't pay that much.  :nono:

I've seen these on ebay before.  Either the seller has a bunch of them, or he keeps trying to sell the same one.  This type of thing isn't my cup of tea.  Doesn't that Nibbler look evil?

Saying Nibbler's evil is like calling the kettle black.

And those thins are nifty.

They're called Babushka Dolls. I'm glad people are still making stuff like this - Futurama lives on!  :D

Hah!  Very funny.  Zoidberg and Farnsworth look the best.

I'm laughing!  :laff: My mom is an "eBay-o-holic" and I've seen a lot of Russian nesting dolls on there. (Wolves, Foxes, 101 & 102 Dalmatians LOL, etc.) I wouldn't mind buying that! Hahahahahahahaha!

Zapp looks the best, although Farsworth is a close second. Alliteration: you dont think they're hand-painted?

To make things worse, I saw a DIFFERENT SET on E-Bay before..[The first doll looks the same, but Zoid and Farnsworth were on the two smallest dolls instead.] That one exists is wierd enough, but for there to be several floating around frightens me.   :hmpf:  Just spooky.

No, they look like they were pasted on or transfered on or something. Either that or the artist is really really talented. After all, he would be painting on oddly shaped pieces of wood, and he pretty much matched the real animators who were drawing on paper.

Of course they're hand painted! I've gotten some of these dolls before and when you buy it they make it. It's so pitaful of their painting jobs, they make their own boxes.

They're more common than you might think - I picked up this Simpsons one at a Hungarian flea market:

Yes, they're hand painted (you can easily tell if you have one to hand), but I've no idea who makes them. I don't think it's a fan, but just someone trying to make a living by producing them.

Actually I did not see the Nibbler. That thing looks ghastly. But all the rest seem pretty on target, I am not a very good judge of art though.
