He saves some more or less negative things about the show itself (he still gives it an overall good review though) but we can disregard that since its the review of the dvd that's important, and he likes it.

meh, he's like most of the reviewers i've seen on the internet. He just doesnt understand what Futurama had to offer in it's episodes.

Actually, I would say he's the exception.  Most reviews of the dvds I've seen have been really positive and always emphasize that its not just the bastard stepchild of The Simpsons.  Although I guess his review would more closely resemble reactions on things like the Jump the Shark page.

Yeah, I pretty much stopped reading after this line:

Was in a mall today, stopped by Suncoast when I didn't have anything else to do.  In the tv dvds section they had a little sign advertising the one-week sale for Volume 4 (35.99 if I recall correctly)....yet of course they couldn't actually sell it yet.  They probably had it behind the counter or in a storage box or something, but couldn't sell it.  I wish stores could just sell their dvds as soon as they actually recieve them, like video games.

I preordered this MONTHS ago... They better get it here soon, is all I can say. Amazon has always been very good to me so far though, so I may let them live if it is a day or two late....maybe.

I'm only through about halfway of the episodes (damned work... cutting into my time and whatnot), but I just got off and have hours before I have to go out and socialize with people again.

So far I've laughed, I've cried (well, more like tearing up ever so slightly) and I've lost sleep because I stayed up too late watching them last night even though I had to open this morning.  It was worth it though!

Now if you'll excuse me...

Got mine at 7:40a.m. Pacific Time. I wasn't expecting the box art to have a completely clear cover. But it's pretty cool. Can't wait to see "Leela's Homeworld", and learn about her origin.

The cover art is cool, but I can tell already that mine's going to get scratched up a lot.  Maybe it's just my copy, but the clear plastic cover seems almost too small for the cardboard box underneath.

Yay! I finally got it. The second i woke up at noon I grabbed my keys and drove to Best Buy to get it. Didnt even bother taking off my pajama pants. Spent the next 7 hours watching.

Hey, it's managed to reach #7 sales rank on Amazon on it's first day... not too shabby (though S3 did better).

Ah, and now that both S3 and S4 have been released in Region1, perhaps someone could inform us as to how the menu quips in each set stack up against each other.

I read that the cover (either the plastic cover, the cardboard cover, or both) is SUPPOSED TO GLOW IN THE DARK. But I put both covers under a lamp for 15 minutes, and neither will glow in the dark.
Is it supposed to glow, or is it a feature only on the other region DVD's, and not on Region 1?

There is. You hit up on the menu for it.

They added stuff and took stuff away. For example, the US box deosn't glow like the Europe version does. But there's another series of beginning slogans.

Easter Eggs, eh?

Disk 3 - on the Episode menu for "Where No Fan Has Gone Before", press right (or left... you have two choices, I'm sure you'll work it out), wait a second, and then select Uhara's fan when it appears. You'll get some footage from some convention, with the writer of the episode, and some other stuff (inc. Dimggio talking about the creation of the voice of Bender).

Disk 4 - on the main menu, select the egg sandwhich in the fridge by highlighting TDHAIP and hitting left. You get a message written in AL 2 (I presume). There are translations around, but suffice to say, only a nerdlinger would go look for them.   

     - in the menu for Spanish Fry, highlight scene selection and push left. Then select the screen. You recieve unused intro title fun.

   - in the menu for TDHAIP, go to 'play episode' and push up. When  the robot devils hands appear, select away. Table read goodness is your reward.

   

But there's another series of beginning slogans.

Dude, on S4, everyone gets those.
