Methinks, perhaps, Spacedal, that you found this site, which lists the release date as November 2003. It's also the UK one. So, no need to fret, folks.

I know that this is off topic...But hey, everyone was doin' it--I just wanted to be popular. Anyway, if Fox was to ever rerelease the Futurama DVDs (as unlikely as it seems), I would definitely consider buying it. Of course, the special features would have to be very tempting. But hey, even if they weren't, I'd still consider buying rereleases somewhere down the line. And, if you look at this thread and what futufan (sort of) implied, a rerelease may be more likely than we think. And, like DtB said, it's definitelty encouraging to see Fox (Home Video) taking an interest in the show and its profitabilty...certainly a bit of hope for those of us who are hoping for a comeback (i.e. all of us).

Exactly. Since the R1 and R2 DVD releases are essentially the same (except for the release date, that is...), there is really no reason to push the date back. Sure, there are complications for Fox when they release the R1 Futurama DVDs (causing our dates to always be later than the R2ers'), but with the release less than a month away, the date is pretty solid.
Also, I think that you may be right about the Volume 2 release being ahead of schedule (though correct me if I'm wrong). I remember season 2 of The Simpsons being a killer, now that you mention it (if memory serves, the release date was constantly changing), by the way.

Thanks for the review, DtB. Can't figure out why it's out so early, but hey, I'm not complaining.
Wow, only 15 more days, and I still have to pre-order this (I'll probably get around to it some time this week).

Agreed on Best Buy being the cheapest (Target and Circuit City are the next best--I believe that both had Volume Three and Simpsons Season Four for 35 bucks). I'm debating on whether or not to pre-order, but I think that's what I'll end up doing (Although, if truth be told, Best Buy is actually, in the long run, a bit of a better deal than Amazon price-wise. I just feel that Amazon delivers better quality products than Best Buy. That may just be my case locally, though.)

Same case over here. When I got Volume Three, there was a pretty big surplus over at Best Buy. I don't have any experience with many other stores (Target, Circuit City) as far as DVDs go--anyone ever get them from either of those places? As far as online stores, while I highly regard Amazon, I was wondering if anybody here has ever pre-ordered a DVD from another online store. If so, were they worth it? Thanks in advance.

Yup, getting there early is a plus, but even if you get there relatively late, the store always has a large amount in stock. I arrived there "late" on the day of Volume 3's release (about 3 o'clock), and even then there were at least 20-30 copies. It's a nice attribute of the store that you can get your "pick of the litter", so to speak.
