If you don't feel like waiting for the australian release of season 4 you can just import it from UK and it should work on your dvd players, i just got my import today and it works fine on my ps2 and the box is pretty much the same as the other ones. if you take the plastic slip thats over it it look excactly the same except the 12+ sign instead of PG.

Yes, we already know that - and about half the Aussies at this board have already done that. Not that it matters anyway, Season 4's probably coming out next month anyway. This thread is pointless...

...but thanks anyway  :)
I saw an import of S4 on the shelves of a specialist video/dvd store in the city, but they were charging something like $120 for it.

I'd still prefer to wait a month or two and pay $80-$90 for the Australian release.

I'm waiting as well... 18 Feb can't come soon enough!!

It will be so gratifying to have all 4 seasons. It's be a day of mixed emotions: I'll be sad cos it means Futurama's 'really' over, but I'll be happy to finally see all the episodes made and it will be gratifying to own them.

Is this production season 4 or airing season 4?

Production. Generally when people on PEEL talk about 'Season 1' or whatever, they're referring to the production seasons, which are the same as the DVD seasons. When a PEELer is referring to the airing seasons they will often use 'McSeason' instead of 'season'  :)

Every episode aired in McSeason 5 is from production Season 4, except for The Route Of All Evil which is from production Season 3.

Look M0le, just visit this website: http://www.leelazone.com.ar/epguide/index.shtml
S01, S02, S03, S04 & S05 list the 5 broadcasted seasons, while 1ACV, 2ACV, 3ACV & 4ACV list the 4 production seasons.

Good question. I'm not too keen on buying from overseas, but I didn't realise you could get imported DVDs so cheaply. Where did you order yours? And is that region 2 or 4?

Cos I'll end up buying it for probably less than that when it's released here...

Got mine 2 weeks before Xmas for about $65 from Amazon UK thanks to a strong Aussie dollar. Just about a week later I was walking through the city (Melbourne)and noticed Season 4 sitting in a window of an import record store. Out of curiosity I asked how much it was, and got the reply $120. I just laughed and walked out.

Having said that I've just got through the first round of viewing and found a glitch on Disc 4. It occurs towards the end of "Spanish Fry" when Leela is doing her Whitney and Bender pushes Fry's cage down the hill. The audio and video freeze, I lose about ten seconds and then Fry appears out of his burning cage. How it caught fire I don't know.

I've looked at the disc and there's definitely a surface defect there. My question is, what are my chances of getting this replaced? Buckley's I should imagine but if any Australians out there know of any way to return this, either to Amazon or Fox, I'd be grateful.

Cheers

Well I'm stunned. I took Grim's suggestion and emailed Amazon. Within 24 hours I got a reply which said they were sending out an entire replacement set, at no extra cost!

So now I have an entire set that is surplus to requirements. As it turns out, I tried it in a friend's laptop DVD drive and the defective part works fine on that. Ditto on the no-name player in the bedroom. It's just the expensive Sony home theatre system that has problems.

If anyone in Melbourne would like a Season 4 box set with a small defect on disc four which is probably of no consequence in most players and at a good price, please send me an email at sofashark at swiftdsl dot com dot au and we'll haggle.

Cheers

I'm fine with waiting for it to be released in Feb.

I don't like ordering online too much hassle without a credit card....

On Sanity's website they have Futurama advertised for AU$82.83, which is probably RRP. It'll probably be cheaper in Kmart, BigW, etc.

I'm getting mine from JB HiFi when they get it in on Feb 18. I've pre-ordered it from there... I don't trust ordering stuff from overseas anymore since I ordered "Into The Woods" on VHS and the tape was crushed in the mail after waiting two weeks, and then having to send it back with much fuss and credit card annoyance. But Feb 18 is only four weeks away, so I'd rather wait and be sure of getting a good copy from a reputable and convenient dealer. I still can't wait though.... episodes such as TWOF, TMLH, L&R, TS and TDHAIP stand out as being episodes I WOULD LOVE to see right now!

EDIT: Hey, KnockItUpANotch, I'm from Perth too! And so is Gleno! :big Perth group hug: You should look into getting Season 4 at JB HiFi - I was told that it would be about $79.95 and that they usually do further discounts when new DVD box sets come out, so you might get it for even less than that.

Wow, I didn't know you could pre-order from JB Dolcelannah! That's where I bought Season 1, 2 and 3. 1 and 2 came to 60 bucks each, but paid 80 for season 3. Sooo worth it in my opinion though :P Next time I'm in town I'll have to have a chat with the JB staff!

I'm not sure where you live, but there are heaps around. I often go to the one in Doncaster Westfield.

They usually don't have many dvds, only anime and Futurama. They always seem to have it!

EB Locations in Victoria:
Airport West
Broadmeadows
Chadstone
Dandenong
Doncaster
Forest Hill Chase
Fountain Gate
Frankston Town
Greensborough
Highpoint
Keysborough
Knox City
Northlands
Ringwood
Southland
Watergardens
Wendouree
Werribee Plaza

I've got all their phone numbers too, and it would be best to ring and find out if they have what you want beforehand. If you want any of the numbers send me an email and I'll reply within 24 hours usually!

Wow - EB sell DVD's??? For less than JB?That's fantastic!

I would say you're not going to get season 4 for less than about $75 anywhere when it comes out. JB will probably have it for about $78. EB I think will have it for around $80-$85. Sanity will rip you off again at $90-$95.

I still recommend JB for dvds over EB though Dolcelannah. They really don't have too many there.
