I'd love to join in on the countdown, but it would just be a bigger letdown for me. Want to hear my sad story?  :(

There's only one store here that sells Futurama DVDs, and the last time, I counted down the days and waited like mad for that day that season 2 came out.

So I was at the store on the day that season 2 came out but I couldn't find it. So I asked ppl about it, and they said, "Oh yeah, we just got it in today. It's still in the box, but we probably won't take it out of the box for a few weeks." A few weeks??!! It was about a month before they finally got their lazy asses to finally take it out of the box. I guess cause I'm probably the only person who would buy a Futurama DVD, but still...Ugh!

So the countdown means nothing to me. It all depends on how lazy the Borders employees are feeling. Well, that's my vent. Hope you guys enjoy your season 3's when it comes out (on time for you lucky bastards).

For those who are interested, a brief addition was added to the review of the R2 of Futurama season 3 on CGEF. It basically compares the menus and packages on the R2 and R1 versions, but it's worth the read.

All the borders do that, i guess. At the one nearby my home, a DVD of my favroite show (something other than Futurama) had just came out on DVD, they said they have it but they wern't going to put it on shelves until the next week. Luckly there was a Best Buy a walk away that had it.

I certianly hope BestBuy doesn't screw up with Futurama season three like they did with Chappelle's Show season one.  They sold out the day it came out by ten o'clock according to the employees, so they order more to come the next Tuesday, and the same thing happens!  So next Tuesday I better get Futurama and Chappelle's Show or I will be very angry!  Does anyone know about how many copies of a new season a store like BestBuy would typically order?

I'm not sure how much they'll order, I guess it depends on whether they've learned their lesson from last time or not.

The Borders here will probaby order ONE copy, if I'm lucky.

I already thought about ordering through Amazon or something, but since I live in Hawaii, the shipping costs would be horrendous. And I'd probably end up with Futurama at the same time, just that I'd have to pay more to get it shipped. So I did use my head, man.

I'll probably just wait a while and then buy it when they lower the price. Newbury Comics kicks ass. I'm so glad we have that place here in RI, it's got all the music and DVDs I need. It seems like there's no place to even get good CDs outside ordering elsewhere. I went to a CD store in Florida once...it sucked.

I'm not too sure about that, but even if they do take preorders, that just guarantees me a copy, which I'm not too worried about since I'm the only one here who likes Futurama (or even knows what it is).

I'm just bummed I'm gonna have to wait an extra 1-3+ weeks because Borders employees are lazy ppl. I don't mind waiting, I just hate waiting for a stupid reason.

4 days! actually still 5 for me, but that's cuz i live on the west coast. according to PEEL's clock/calendar it's

4 MORE DA--[head explodes]

actally even longer for me. i ordered it off amazon, and i was low on money, so i got the free 5-9 day shipping. *cries*

also, i got this before season 2. i already have season 1, but I skipped 2 becasue i realized it would actually be cheaper to pre-order season3, and there's 3 more episodes.

Hey! My copy shipped from Amazon.ca yesterday (the 4th)! I just found out today, because I ordered it on my mom's account, and she didn't tell me when she got the email.  Considering that I paid for the free shipping (get it? PAID for the FREE shipping? Heehee. Sometimes, I kill myself...), I wasn't expecting it to ship until after the release date. Nice.  They still  estimate the arrival date as being the 15th to 18th, though, so I likely won't be getting it for a while. I sure would hate to know when it would arrive if it wasn't being sent by "Expedited" post.

Nice to see an advert for the new DVD on a corner of a IMDb page.  :) At first I thought the American one had a different cover, then I discovered it is the same cover just arranged slightly differently, or so it seems.

Sometimes online retailers ship items before they officially come out.  But since you won't get it until after the release date, it really doesn't matter.

By the way, the best online deal I've seen is $29.99 (US) with free shipping from BestBuy.com.  But I think they only ship in the USA.

I know, but I wasn't expecting them to ship so soon, because I selected the free shipping, and they normally wait an extra 3-5 days before even sending out those orders.  Sadly, Best Buy's Canadian chain, Futureshop, has one of the worst online deals (of the sites I normally order from) for Futurama ($58), which is surprising, as they had the best pre-order price for season two.  It's annoying.

Thanks for the tip Action Jacktion! I was just about to order it through Amazon, but thanks to you I saved a few extra dollars. Guess I'll put those savings towards a few iTunes songs   :)
